The combat in this game as a minstrell has become rather fun, i have several different rotations, which i can switch between ........... and then there are those abbilites that i can mix intoo my rotations when needed... Both solo adn in groups i am having a blast while fighting....
Its obvious to me that many people when joining this game don't give the combat system a chance to grow....In any MMO, there will only be a few combat abilities at start and combat will feel rather dull and static at low levels.
A friend of mine who played about a year ago dismissed the game for this reason after a few days of playing and returned to another not to be named game, telling everyone how boring this game is.....He saw me play yesterday and couldn't beleive how much fun combat was.....espescially since the mobs are a tad more intelligent then in other MMO games.....
To me this game currently feels like playing an oldfashioned RPG and a modern MMO in one game.
I also turned on DX10, and some DX 10 feautures, did i allready tell you how amazingly good this game looks.
Pretty much spot on about the combat. I have a 54 LM, a 50 burglar, a 40 minstrel, a 35 Guardian and a 31 hunter. EVen with the hunter i can choose several types of tactics - use traps or distracting beasts, movement slowing of DoT attacks, stuns, gathering focus before or in battle, etc. etc. At higher levels, it only gets better. My LM is very hard to beat, even if overpowered - things like WIsdom of the council (instant full heal which can also stun enemies if they attack me), Eldar's grace (70%+ parry) and another skill that resets the counter of many skills - these are excellent very last resorts, that (if used correctly) can help one win against stupid odds at times. Those are the best battles - the ones to be remembered:)
Whoever says "the game got boring at lvl 15/25/35 - they are just cheating themselves. Good that we only have 1-2 naysayers left around :)

I guess it will be US-only :( as usual... too bad as I'd love to have one for EU!

I have been trying to find THE online game for me for a while now, but I have had no such luck as to find it yet. I have been interested in Lord of the Rings Online for some time now, but it looks a bit like WoW from merely glancing at it. So, could somebody tell me some stuff about the game?
Stff like, What the dungons are like,
Most are nice at first but get boring quick.
Subjective. I seriously doubt Bursche has entered more than 10% of all dungeons in this game (even w/o Moria)
Whats the gameplay like?
It's a quest grind rewards are mostly for quests only. Killing 500 higher level mobs gives less exp than 2 quests to deliver something from NPC1 to NPC2
Complete BS. Around lvl 50, a typical quest reward is 4000-6000 XP, a same level mob is 400 XP. So, 10-15 mob per typical quest.
Does anything in particular set this game apart from other online games?
The community does. In no other game i met more people who forgot that they are playing a game.
Not sure what you mean - there are tons of things that make this game different - music, legendary wapons, complex trait system - and community is way more mature than say, WOW or AoC's. Ah, and PVMP as well.
What is the community like?
Unfriendly impatient unsocial. Unless you enter a kinship then you can be lucky to find some friendly people.
Again - extremely biased, on the verge of trolling. During the almost 2 years I played, I met less than 5 a**holes and had fun in hundreds of PUG's all over the game. A kinship is still a good idea.
What's the population like?
Surprisingly low for the famous license they abused here.
Every area on my server is crowded, especiall 0-30 and 50+ areas currently.
Does it get boring after a while?
For most people it does, yes. But if you get the thrill forever from making nice screenshots and repeating the same content with every alt you roll, then you will be fine
Trolling. Yes, it gets boring for powergamers, leet kidz, PVP maniacs and burnt out pen and paper veterans -Even those who love this game have had "boring bits" now and then, but the game is still much less of an XP grind that most others around, due to the nicely written quests. There is a very high rate of "old players", who have been playing for over a year or more - the game has a lot to offer if you don't play 15+ hours a week!
I know they are pretty much newbie questions, but I am a newbie after all. If possible, just please tell me anything a newbie would need to know about the game. Thanks for reading all that, mabe for answering, and I might see you in Lord of the Rings Online soon! ^_^

Most of Lotr quest suck, the faboys are just blind because they want there game to be the best but in truth, wotk Has some very awesome quest which blows anything in lotr, and also Eq2 has some very good quest. In my opinion lotr can't hold a candle to wow or eq2.
If you're 30, then I'm 128 :)
Poorest WOW fanboi trolling attempt of the year so far - not much time left to beat either :))

Whoever has bought gold is:
- a loser/noob
- clueless on how to play
- lazy
- have zero understanding on what "fun" means
- snobbish
- compulsive
- suffers from low self-esteem
- is self-cheating
- deliberitely wishes to rip him/herself off any sense of achievement
- escapist
Or a combination of any of the above.
Buy Gold/Mounts/High level chars: admitting that you're a loser and giving it up.
It is all IMHO, of course :)
