    • Dear Turbine, This isn't how to run a "welcome back" campaign...
    • I can certainly appreciate venting for the same of venting, but all in all it sounds like you came here with this issue simply to encite dissent and seek to enrage the trolls of this forum.

If a problem like that happened to me, I'd take the time to check out the real support forums to see if it was a known issue, especially since this is the first time they offered a 'Welcome Back' access.  Next I would have attempted to contact support directly, to see if they could find an immediate fix or at the very least explain to me exactly what is going on and why I cannot select pre-existing characters to play.

      Software glitches happen ...

Don't misunderstand, like I said at the beginning I can understand your frustration, but coming here to post your message does absolutely nothing to resolve the issue for you.

    • Quite content with LOTRO
    • I have to add my own voice in on this and agree with the OP.  There are many MMO-style of games out there, that no single one could ever possibly supply 'everything' for everyone.

LOTRO satisfies both my and my wife's exploration and questing desires, we still enjoy discovering new places as we take our time getting to level 50, our primary characters just reached 49 and we've just started doing the quests in Forochel.

We're enjoying it immensely, and we both agree that LOTRO reminds us of our previous ventures with other MMO's before we decided to move on from them.

I understand that there are those out there that enjoy PVP, and stress how LOTRO isn't 'real PVP'.  Yet I don't play games to bring additional stress into my life that PVP can bring, I get enough of that with my professional life, and my personal life with my family.  I play games to destress, I want to enjoy the time I get to spend with my wife online without having to worry about ganking.

We're lifetime members, we've played the game since closed Alpha Stage One.  We've seen the game emerge from "paste on' trees to the lush forest that's represented today.  We're quite happy with our investment, and look forward to the future with Mines of Moria and beyond.

    • Hunter class = aggro magnet ?
    • Unfortunately that is the way it is when you have a high DPS class in a group situation.  Barbed arrow not only does some nice damage, but it also extends a DOT, it makes the target bleed for a period of time.

Aggro management has always been a topic of discussion with our kinship groups, in knowing when you should use your arrow skills versus backing off and letting the tank keep the mob hate.

There have been plenty of times when our kins hunter pulls the mob from the tank, and I have to do an immediate 360 to put my healing efforts on them, but a good team will recognize when this happens and attempt to compensate within the group to return the hate to the tank.

Time and practice is all that's needed, and best of luck to you with your hunter.  Welcome to Eriador!
