    • Why did obama abandon his brother in Kenya ?
    • This is quite amusing.  The closer we are coming to Obama's victory, we are fast finding out who here are the more desperate and extreme right-wingers of this website.  It used to be that Enigma, Dekron and some other regular posters would come to the aid of McCain supporters, and help cast Obama down into the flames.  Maybe they realized that smearing Obama has backfired, just as the GOP finally realized this last week and changed tactics.

However, there still remain a stubborn and hardcore few who truly feel Obama is not a good person.  Do you see people making threads about McCain's connections with Sen. Helms and other known overt racists?  Is there anyone prying open the 70+ years McCain history and trying to cast him down by the friends and associates he kept?  Are there people at Obama rallies asking Obama if McCain is a racist?  If any of this is happening, it is much less in quantity than the threads calling Obama a terrorist, muslim, communist, and other falsifications.

The issues dominate now, and thankfully enough the issues are color-blind and non-partisan.  We are in some serious shit, and the better man will win this campaign.  But feel free to keep posting drivel like this, we have already seen McCain lose a few percentage points off of his attack ads and overall strategy.  Maybe if he loses a couple more points, this will be a landslide...

    • Polling data shows that McCain must win every toss-up state and one or two Obama leaning state to win now.
    • Thanks to GWB and 2004, we now know that one doesn't have to win the popular vote in order to become president.  Everyone is talking % points here, but the OP is talking about Electoral Points, and there is no way McSame can rebound.  Gore never had this edge, neither did Kerry or Bush.  This election won't even be close.

Also, we had a GOP controlled congress back in 2004, and Bush was very popular amongst his party.  We now have a Dem. controlled congress, and both Bush and McSame are very unpopular with their own party.  In fact, Newt Gingrich (who I think is a very intelligent man) said McSame lost the election the second he signed on to the bail out.

There is a very strong possibility that Dems will have over 2/3rd majority in congress, so the GOP is in big trouble.

Last projection from CNN had Obama with over 300 electoral votes with at least 250 of them near-certain.  Obama is in the midst of closing the deal, and McSame simply doesn't have the time or appeal to make a huge difference.  The fact he didn't come up with any character attacks during the debate pretty much shows his party has given up.

Okay lets take a look at what is happening in Iraq.  Right now tons of terrorists have been flooding into Iraq to attack American Military members.  While I think this is sad it is also something that we sign up for when joining the Military.

Let's just take a look at what the Iraq War is doing to keep us save.

2003-2008 no terrorist attacks on American soil.

Before that we had the USS Cole bombing, WTC bombing 1993 and 2001, and numerous other smaller attacks.

So even if all Iraq has done is keep us save by providing the necessary intelligence to foil terrorist plots isn't it worth it?

How much can you value a human life at?  The lives of civilians and especially children?

Fear-mongering made me vote for GWB for his 2nd term.  It is not going to work this time though.

Plenty of other terrorist acts have happened around the world, and thankfully enough none have hit US soil since then.  But the Iraq strategy is flawed, and we haven't paid enough attention to the real threats out there.  This is why Osama is reportedly still alive, and his group still exists.

How much do you value over 4,000 US troop's lives?  How much do you value Iraqi citizens who have been killed in this war?

    • If McSame simply understood that America no longer cares about Iraq, he would have had a shot in this race.  I simply do not give a shit what happens in Iraq, and about 90% of the country also happens to agree.  I am not suggesting an isolationist stance ala Monroe, but lets at least pull back a bit to heal our domestic wounds.  10 billion a month is a lot of money, just think what we could start doing with that in 16 months after we leave under Obama's suggested pullout timeframe.

To all of the McSame supporters, do you care about Iraq?  Is this really worth our time, money and blood?  What about their 80 billion surplus?  There is a clear decision to be made in this election, and Iraq is at the epicenter of that decision.  We are a democracy, give the people what they want, leave Iraq now.
