...the fast paced, action RPG combat takes away A LOT of strategical depth and character development depth. ...
This is exactly what I felt as well. In order to execute a power or move, it was simply too many keystrokes for that to happen. I don’t want to have to hit the keys “3-1-2-e-q” in order to do a shield bash. I want to concentrate more on the strategy of which powers I need to use in order to survive instead of which key sequence I need to execute in order to simply active a power.

Good article all around. I'm glad they are more concerned with polish and making the game "fabulously" fun, rather than try to shoehorn in as much as possible and then fix it post launch. Good for Mythic. I'm even more glad I sprung for the CE.
These were my thoughts exactly after reading the article. I like the honesty. Great job Mythic.
The MMO community always seems to explode when developers aren't truthful and forthcoming with their information (I won't mention any names, but we all know who they are). Mythic seems to be the total opposite and tells us everything, and people still explode. Is it such a mystery why others other developers are so close-mouthed? They are damned if they do and damned if they don't when up against the whining.
Again, good job Mythic. You are on the right course. This is one I'll be trying at release.
Here's to hoping that this one will give me that "Gamma World" fix that I've been craving. ![]()
So we shut down the Champions team for two weeks. And everyone played the game. Each person was required to play for at least an hour each day, and a goal for the whole team was set for at-home play hours. As a reward, if the team played for 600 total hours for the month of June, the company directors would hold a BBQ for them. As people played, we expected them to use an in-game tool to log bugs, comments, suggestions and criticisms.
Wait wait wait...you had your team, stop working, play a game for 2 weeks, then held a BBQ for them?
You slave drivers!
PS - Are you hiring?? ![]()
Keep up the good work. We're all out here hoping for a winner.
