Its only one person doing it, and its very sloppy work, its so obvious and blatant, either the person doing it is not very smart or their just desperate and ignorant about how they appear.

The person is even talking to themselves, and carrying on a conversation between their previous accounts in their own sticky, and this is the person who accused me of being sad, pathetic and wasting my time / life with one of their accounts recently.

Now he’s even nonchalantly picking up and continuing arguments / debates with his current account that he started with previous accounts.

You mean like... Trollbait... Account created 7/21/08.

Or, the many accounts and user names of Downtoearth... There are others.

He thinks we will all believe that a person who's NEVER registered at this site, would just happen to create an account AND start PREACHING about Darkfall as if he's been following it for years BUT never posted before.

      Yes.. That's perfectly believable.

      Let's see...
They don''t need open beta testing. In-house only. Fully tested and guaranteed bug free.

Guaranteed bug free? No, most likely not. They're doing most of the testing with a professional group hired specifically for it. Surely wins a bunch of kids running around and maybe having 1 out of 30 doing any kind of actual beta testing and getting leaked rants about the game in beta stage.

They don't need an official publisher.

Their "publisher" corporation is mainly for pressing the discs. It's not like Aventurine would have to machinery to do that themselves in the place where they make the game.

They don't need a site to house their game servers and provide connectivity for an MMO.

Why would they feel the need to talk about that in the public? I'm sure the fans will rather hear about something else.

They don't need to market their product and advertise. Publishers DON'T just distribute games. They MARKET them. Even if Aventurine isn't marketing their own product, the publisher would surely perform those tasks. That's what publishers do. So, where is the marketing?

The trolls are doing a favor for Darkfall in this case, as they are so enthusiastic to bash the game ans spread the word to everyone. It's called reverse psychology. Everybody knows about Darkfall, but many expect it to be vaporware. So if it actually *will* get released, many will give it a shot most likely.

In this case the "publisher" is mostly just distributing the game and Aventurine is acting as a self publisher, as far as I know.

They don't need to have ANY pre-order sales which would not only give them needed income BUT provide them with a GOOD estimate on the number of EXPECTED users. This would be a tremendous help in determining how many servers will be needed at launch.

If they actually did that, the trolls would have even more of a reason to believe it to be a scam. They want everyone to be able to try it for free at first.

They don't need ANY professional gaming sites to have a sneak peek or a "hands on" look at the game. This would mean FREE advertising. Now what company on the planet would shy away from this?

They've even let tourists to have a test of the game and we've seen a released review of a guy playing the game for a bit. I'm sure you'd expect that to be some kind of a conspiracy, though.

Has Aventurine shyed away from an hands on/sneak peek from a professional gaming website? That's interesting, could I have some kind of elaboration on that?

All I hear is, "They are doing it THEIR way."

      Indeed.

(Posted by 'COORS' from another thread)

What elaboration do you need, seriously? What can anyone say to you guys that would make you question anything?

You mean I need to elaborate on why there has been ZERO professional gaming sites who have been given the opportunity to get a "hands on" look at Darkfall? What major MMO on the planet have you ever been aware of where some, OR multiple gaming sites DIDN'T get a look. Even a PRE-ALPHA look?

Nothing about this project draws any questions in your mind? You're going to sit there and espout the typical, fanboi "party line" responses NO MATTER what the facts are in front of your own eyes.

You guys keep saying that Aventurine is self-publishing out of one side of your mouth. Then... When the argument sways you say "They have a publisher!" Well, you can't have both. Which is it?

      And...

How the heck is anyone going to purchase this product if it's being released? I mean, where are we going to buy it? It takes a long time to set up packaging and sales. Companies like Best Buy don't just put product on the shelf in 5 minutes time.

Ahh.. I'm tired of this, to be honest. Really tired.

It's like talking to a small child. You just can't reason with you people.

I'll tune back in this December to read what NEW excuses you come up with.

      I'm out.

no pre orders will be sold

I'll take you up on it. My timetable though, is if there is no active beta OR solid release date by February 1st. I'll make my thread then. Deal?

Nope. Tasos already said beta AND release would be within 2008. So if you wanna add a timetable, that's the one.

Funny thing is, I gave Tdogskal an open timetable to accomodate him, and he never returned to accept ( although he posted in other threads afterwards, so I know he was still here ).

So come on, you guys all have such faith in Tasos and Aventurines' claims, why balk at a chance to put the money where the mouth is, so to speak?

Nope you can't claim that since Tasos gave impressions of already signing a publishing deal and the fanbois have already swallowed it hook, line, and sinker even though Darkfall is mentioned nowhere in the agreement which was stated, only "games".

You guys can't have it both ways, saying "They have a publisher!!" and "They are self publishing!!" alternatively depending on what is needed to prove their argument.

      Couldn't agree more Zorvan.

There is ZERO chance of this actually being released in 2008.

I'll even take this one step further. I don't think they even have the servers or infrastructure needed to house an MMO. And even another step further. I don't see ANY mention of any agreement for any site to "house" the game. Without servers and infrastructure, you CANNOT support an online game. This is something we haven't even discussed previously.

But.. speaking for myself, I will be MORE than satisfied if ONLY "open" beta begins by the end of this year. At least if that happens, we can stop the back and forth arguments about whether the game "exists" or not. Then we can, at the very least, discuss the game on it's merits.

Perhaps this is something EVERYONE here can agree upon?

      No way!

You can't keep changing the rules and "pushing" back the dates every month. That's exactly what's been going on for years now.

Several well known supporters had this very same agreement last January. You can look up the threads if you care to.

Aragon and Downtoearth stated that beta was beginning in 2nd quarter 2008 FOR ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY! Downtoearth CLAIMED to have (wink... wink...) inside information on this.

Most folks here, like Zorvan (I'm sure at least) would remember those statements.

      Well... My point...

These dates have come and gone and still nothing. So you just can't keep pushing back the timetable to suit your arguments. Well, you can of course, but to what end?
