    Exactly tbox. By role-play server I really mean a RP/PVP server more specifically. RP actually goes along very well with PvP (like someone else pointed out, accidental 'friendly fire', or even the possibility of intentional 'friendly fire') adds to a RP environment better. Non-PvP RP is too limited on the actions one can take. And since most other MMOs assume that RPers want PvE and make the official 'RP' servers accordingly PvE... it kind of misses the point. Most RPers want unlimited freedom of choice on the actions and possibilities that happen in a game and to NOT be limited by artificial game mechanics like 'flagging' or 'dueling' as most games have come to rely on for those who don't want FFA PvP.

    Bottom line is, FFA PvP fits into a RPing environment better than PvE. But since true FFA PvP isn't something that most MMORPGs are offering any longer, finding a PvP centric game like Darkfall and having a server for RP/PvP would be the best of both worlds for a lot of people. And as a bonus, it requires very little dev time to come up with rules and changes for a RP/PvP server. The players themselves will handle most of that themselves if given the leeway in the game mechanics.

  • This is a long-shot with close to 300 requests at this point. But would love to check the game out if anyone can take a break from playing to throw one out for me.

• • Petition Graphics Update - FFXI

  • Am I the only one that likes the FFXI art style as is? There's only so many ways the graphics could be upgraded (effects, reflections, etc) but still stay true to the original style... Although I don't play it any longer (unless someone wants to change that by sending me a buddy pass *hint hint* lol), I would probably not like any massive change to the overall style. It's kind of like getting used to the way a certain comic is drawn and then having a different artist take over and start drawing everything in a different way even if they try to stay true to the original artists style - the change just doesn't look 'right'.

     

    But that's my .02 cents.
