Lotro is a good game seriously.
Seriously, a good game LoTRO is.
yeah i have to agree with these statements.... meh i wish i could have at least tried AoC... too bad my comp is almost 3 years old (and wasnt exactly spectacular when i got it) =/
i think everyone would love a precu server however its not going to happen...
i doubt anyone at SOE brought up something along the lines of: "Hey this plan might destroy our playerbase... lets back up the servers just in case."
so i doubt they even have the same data from the precu days... i seriously think they reason they wont go back is because they *literally* cant

Potbs was also an imba game wasnt it? anyone with common sense knows that potbs was crap...aoc isnt total crap..but its far from a real mmo...you will see that when you get to 80...some will just quit, some will go back to the previous games..most ppl will just wait for the next MassiveMorpg..because aoc isnt one...its a good game..but its not an MMORPG.
Primary features in an MMORPG are
-A Massive world, massive zones ( aoc has neither )
-No loadings in every zone and door ( aoc has loadings everywere)
-No instancing of zones ( aoc uses instancing of zones when a few more people join a zone, and thats not massive)
wow im so unbelievably sick of this argument.... its like listening to guild wars haters all over again
first of all, how do you even know what will happen when people get to level 80?
guild wars is instanced and thousands of people still play and buy the expansions
and as far as i know instancing is supposed to end after lvl 20 (this argument is just as valid as your post because obviously neither of us have any proof)
also anyone that calls me a fanboi deserves to be slapped... i honestly dont care about this game, i did not preorder, i dont plan on buying it and i didnt register for the open beta/closed beta/anything.
i just hate ignorance
i think i would definitely try it out :] tired of the fantasy genre... im waiting for a good sci fi mmo right now but anything different will do :D

honestly, the reason i could not get into the game was because everywhere i went someone killed me for no reason before i even knew how to play... (and these were people from every "faction")
hopefully the new changes will fix that and ill actually be able to play the game instead of being slaughtered whenever another player sees me
Why do you need mechanisms to protect you? What's the fun in that ? Is there a mechanism in real life that prevents you from dieing when some guy stabs/shoots you down on some colony in space? I don't think so . Even the chance of getting raped in dark alleys etc in big cities is pretty big.
So why doesn't this happen 24/7 to you in real life? Cause you avoid those places.
using your logic; in real life we also grow up and learn where to live/what to avoid and we choose what to do with our lives knowing the consequences of what we do in advance....
now in a game when someone is new to playing and has not learned what to do/how to play, it is detrimental to the game for people to die constantly even when walking in a well "protected" area of a city without the ability to even defend themselves... also, in FoM everywhere seemed to be a dark alley O_o
Which console would you like to see MMOs released for?
