• • Dark Templar experience?

  • If you've played one past lvl 20 I would really like an honest opinion on what you think about the Dark Templar class so far. I created one last night and was only able to reach lvl 6, but it seems to have potential.

    I'm looking to play a well rounded class for PvE/PvP/soloing ability.....did I choose poorly?

  • I'm fairly happy with game performance so far, quite shocked that it was so smooth to be honest. I only experienced one, maybe two very slight moments of lag/slowdown after I entered Tortage city(it was bustling with activity at the time).

    I would say I averaged between 40-75 FPS with peaks around 98ish FPS with an occasional drop in the 20's in heavily populated areas. Very smooth for the most part...I was able to play mostly at max settings, with one or two slight adjustments to render distance, etc...I normally turn those down, because I prefer FPS.  Currently using Windows XP 32 bit and the game looks and plays very well(yes, I was still able to see the sun beams through the trees)

    The loading times are not bad at all.....5-7 seconds max(for me anyway)

    I'm a 34 year old gamer who has lots of experience with various MMO's....this one by far, really shocked me for a launch day..I'm impressed and quite pleased so far.

    My current set up:

    Windows XP 32 bit

    AMD Dual core/X2 6000 3.0ghz

    4gigs of OCZ SLI 800 mhz ram(only using 2 gigs due to OS)

    Two 8800 GT/OC 512 mb video cards in SLI mode

    7200 RPM 250gig WD Caviar HD

    Asus M2N-SLI motherboard

    800 Watt power supply

  • I used to really enjoy crafting in SWG, I found it to be a nice break from PvE/PvP when things were quiet. How is the crafting system in AoC? Is there a skill tree or branch? Are certain races/classes better for crafting? Oh....regarding item storage, do we have a bank or footlocker of some sort?

  • So,how bad will it be on a pvp server? Constant gankfest? Will it be difficult to accomplish quests? Meaning if I only have 2 hours of play time each day, will most of it be consumed by finding my corpse? I enjoy both aspects of MMO's PVE and PVP(not much of an RP'r though)....I cant decide on which server type I should choose. Any CB testers care to respond with their thoughts and or suggestions?

• • Upgrade to 64 bit? xp or vista?

  • After reading several posts about PC performance regarding AoC. I'm concerned if I should spend the extra $ to upgrade from XP 32bit to either XP 64 or Vista 64......Will I see any improvement in (AoC)game performance with the 32/64 upgrade?

    What kind of framerates/settings can I expect running 1280X1024 as it stands now?

    System specs:

    AMD 6000 X2 3.0 ghz

    7200 rpm WD Caviar 250HD

    2 each BFG 8800 GT OC'd 512(SLI'd)

    4 gigs PC 6400 800 MHZ(running xp 32 atm though)

    X-fi extreme gamer sound card
