The inherent problem with this can get rather tricky. If one were to go by the lore, very few single humanoid opponents would stand a chance against a fully trained force user without the benefit of extreme foreplanning and fortuitous circumstances, even fewer of those could manage it without some aptitude for force use, however untrained.
On the other hand, Jedi and Sith are trained almost from infancy, the concept of an untrained adult, especially one without an extremely high force connection, going *poof* "I'm a Jedi now!" is unusual if not rediculous in the extreme. Did you ever play the first game? You didn't start as a Jedi there. Sorry, but no. In the first game, your character was trained almost from birth as a Jedi, lost his/her memory, then trained again to regain his/her skill. Special, and highly unusual circumstances. I mean, I guess we could have thousands of all powerful Sith lords running rampant at once before being betrayed and almost killed by their apprentices leaving their memories dispersed... thousands of them doing it...
In an MMO, one must allow for at least some balance between the various character options. I think we can all agree that true equality is a pipe dream, but some effort must be made. At the same time, bringing jedi and their counterparts down to the level of the common man is insulting at best.
This leaves us with few options:
A.) No force users period, disappointing to many, but maybe best all around. There is huge potential within the Star Wars universe without even touching the Jedi and their world.
B.) All are force users, this would unfortunately cut off a great deal of options, particularly in the RP bit of MMORPG
C.) The choice is yours to become a Jedi or not. You still have the problem with ordinary characters standing on par with the others, not to mention, how many people are going to decline? I'd be guessing somewhere around 1-2%
Now, what can be done, if not easily, would be to expand upon option B, your basic class category choices being Jedi, Sith, Force Trained, and one or two other groups designed to counter force users, for instance the Echani warriors, who are trained to be immune to mind techniques, can be brought in. Of course, there would be a number of classes falling under each heading. The first two would have a limited ability to swap between themselves, with the third being weakest in actual force abilities, but a much greater range of other skills.

Wasn't it going to be called Star Wars - The Old Rebuplic ?
seeing as it will be nothing more than wow with a star wars skin maybe they should call it
star wars: the same old sh*t
At least give the poor bastages a chance to tell us what they have in mind before declaring it another WOW, I can understand some pessimism, but sheesh.

The problem here is that for the premises for evolution to be true, the Bible cannot be literally accurate. Many fundamental Christians are not willing to... compromise on the matter for reasons which I can personally understand.
On the other hand, for the Christians willing to treat the Bible as a guide, an example to follow, but not as a history book, there is nothing whatsoever within the principles of evolution that is incompatible or necessarily opposing to the Christian faith or their god. In fact, having a deity of some kind directing matters would solve a number of points within the context of the theory that we are having difficulty explaining.
Torak, I will agree with you in principle, but a large number of atheists and agnostics have the same "convert to my way of thinking" attitude, granted, they don't have the heaven/hell threat to back it up, but it can be and often is just as irritating to those of faith as in reverse.
To anyone concerned or acting as such about where the right to bear arms ends, such as the sarcastic gatling gun comment above, it's quite simple.
A handgun, in the hands of a person with a moderate knowledge of its use, can be a highly effective and reasonable tool for self defense. Gatling guns, other fully automatics, high explosives, sawn-off shotguns, and other weaponry that are considered illegal for public use, are neither effective nor reasonable for such a purpose, except in the sense that you are almost guaranteed to kill someone, whether its your actual target or not...
To those concerned about handguns being used in unfortunate accidents and second degree murder. In the first case, that is addressed fairly easily, see to it that gun control laws include a passage for potential gun owners to first pass a test demonstrating both their knowledge of gun safety and their ability to think rationally under stress. This, in all honesty, should have been done decades ago, and can reduce incidents drastically. In the second case, a murder weapon could be just about anything at hand, a gun is actually more likely to give the person time to think and consider their actions.
In light of the recent update which changed the effects of certain AoE powers for the Tempest of Set, what is your favourite Priest archetype class in Age of Conan?
