Latest Blog Entry - Memoirs & Confessions of a WoW Addict
From my blog Memoirs & Confessions of a Justified MMO Sinner [Abdiell]

In my last entry I confessed that I sinned against my long time Warcraft guild, and that I quit the game.

Well, that was my third serious attempt at quitting WoW, and this time I thought it was going to stick. I even gave my account away to a friend. TBH, I never planned on giving up on MMOs, I was waiting for AoC. I thought AoC was going to be the game that forever seperated me from WoW. How dilluted. Sure, AoC has its upside. The combat system is great and the graphics are unrivaled, but it also has major flaws. Everyone knows this stuff, and there are more threads about AoC woes than a drama monger such as myself would ever care to read. But I digress.

You see, as soon as I quit WoW I apped to a hardcore AoC guild and patiently waited for launch. I knew going in that my pc was well below the optimal requirements, but I could never have imagined just how poorly it would run on my system. 3 days of frustration in AoC and I was jonsing for WoW. I asked my friend for my account back, but he had switched mains to my old toon and was not giving it back. For others, that might have been a sign that a return to WoW wasn't in the cards. Not for me. Just the opposite in fact. It pissed me off, and it ended my longtime RL friendship with the thief. I tried in vein to guess the new password, and I eventually just went down to gamestop and bought a new game.

So here I am. 3 months ago I quit WoW, and severed ties completely with a guild I was in for 3 years. I've lost the toon I made all those years ago, and raided with for so long. I've rerolled on a random server, with a class I've never played seriouslly. I will be 70 inside of a week, and apping to guilds based on my experience alone. In my experience of rolling alts on other servers, my raiding experience is more than enough to get a freshly 70, green geared toon in to mid level guilds.

I'll confess it openly: I'm hopelessly addicted to WoW. Considering my previous attempts to quit, or move on to other games, I can't imagine that I will ever leave.

These are the Memoirs & Confessions of a Jusitifed MMO Sinner.

    • What is the end game like?
    • What I was thinkg of is more along the lines of traditional mmo endgame.

I take it from your answer that raiding in the WoW, Everquest, etc sense is not part of this game?

How is the/is there any endgame pvp?

      Looking For More:
We are looking for people who can become “core” raiders, and are looking to raid consistently, four nights a week, and have the three attributes we require:
      - Great attitude / high consistency
      - Ability to pay attention / research fights
      - Excellent class/spec knowledge (passionate about the class/spec they play, not just looking to ‘fill a slot’ or ‘do what the guild needs’)

      Specific Needs:

      Resto Shaman

      About Us:
      Ordo Exodus (
http://ordoexodus.com) is a guild that has been around since a December, 2005 under the same leadership, and officer core. With a focus on keeping quietly to ourselves, enjoying the game and causing absolutely no drama.

      Our Focus:
People, then progression – we value individuals for who they are – and plan to keep the guild together for the foreseeable future. Our members play TF2, CS:S together, Warcraft 3, Diablo 2 – and many other games, and have our own Steam Group. If you are looking for a hardcore progression oriented guild – we probably are not a good fit for you. If you are looking for a home for the long term – with a focus on fun and people, we might just be the place.

      Ranks
Our ranks are very fluid – a very much “what have you done for us lately” setup, this is so we can at a glance see how our “core” group looks. Demotions and Promotions are commonplace.
      - Core Raider: Those who get invited first, those who raid 3+ nights every single week consistently, the core of our guild.
      - Understudy: Those looking to be core members, the first ones invited into raid when a core slot is open, the up and comers.
      - Reserve: Less consistent / not looking for a core slot. Good solid reserver player, when they are on, they do their job, if not on, life goes on.

      Schedule
We are 4 day raiders (Sunday/Monday/Wednesday/Thursday) and late night raiders (9PM EST). Go spend Friday and Sat with friends/family -- or if you are on -- run some 10 man or PvP. Tuesday, as patch day, scares us -- but you might find some 10 mans and pvp going on. :)

      Gear Requirements
We don’t have any specific requirements, the person who reviews your armory and profile will be someone who knows your class and gearing needs – and will make a judgment call on the amount of effort you put into getting your items. Commitment to gearing yourself says a lot about your attitude and class knowledge.

      Progression
      Use the progression thread!

WE WILL GIVE PREFERENCE IN RECRUITING PEOPLE WITH ONE OR BOTH OF THEIR VIAL REMNANTS.

If you are interested in applying or just hearing more about our guild, please speak with Caoin, or ask one of our friendly memebrs for an officer.

      Thanks, and happy hunting!
