• • Why is WoW so hated on this website?

  • My personal reason for disliking(not quite hate) WoW is,

    IMO it destroyed the genre, and the fact that its popular dooesn't help the genre either.

    Look at everything thats come out since 04?, was it?.. even including EQ2, they have all been very shallow games, designed so that 5yr olds can play.(eq2 not shallow, but still easy, end game raid even easier than wow)

    The comment about players who bash WoW, did they even make it to end game?..

    Our EQ guild did, smashed thru all the top raid content at the time,  then went back to EQ, for some real raiding, not silly timed event things, where everyone has to run around in circles, tap their head 5 times, and take 3 steps to the left to take down bosses. and 40ppl?,... wtf. not a raid. Its not a raid if it can easily be repeated many times over, raids should be epic, and involve epic fights, not a chore easgg...

    nm, getting off track.

    anywho my reason for disliking wow, to summarise.

    -too easy

    -simple classes and character advancement.

    -solo game

    these things dont just apply to WoW, but WoW started it.

    This site should be renamed to www.mmog.com, cause they aren't mmorpgs anymore.

    or even www.mog.com

  • Coming from EQ, from my point of view,

    WoW / WAR are identical...

    super mega easy games, where everything is given to you.

    Raiding a joke.(dont know about WAR raid yet, havn't experienced it)

    PvE in general a joke.

    Pvp a joke - not so much in WAR, but the pvp/rvr has got nothing on DAoC.

    This may change when the majority of the population is in T4 - actually i expect it will.

    MMORPGs nowadays are designed so 5yr olds can play em. Give me a game I have to learn, and classes I have to learn, and not be mastered at lvl 10, because there isn't really all that much to learn about classes now.

  • not fussed either way because its the same to me.

    All the mmos from like 2003/2004 onwards you can get max level very quickly anyway.
