    It is funny how you can write this.

    AoC is so filled with problems that even the thought of Funcom to have not pulled development from the expansion team and the 360 to fix those just put the company in an even worse light.

    How can you defend their behavior still?

     

     

    I have to Agree with you Draccan.

    Avery, I've always respected your opinions and agreed with most of them but I can't agree with what you are saying.

    The game feels unfinished to me, although I did had fun it just didn't held my atention, I unfortunately cancelled this week.

    They shouldn't be talking about expansions when the game is still lacking some features that were printed on the box, that are not working in game or are completely buggy.

    Mine is different, and I think jealousy is starting to take hold of the AoC fan base here on this website because of the raw deal they are getting from AoC/funcom.     LotRo client has not crashed for in over 10 months..... Vanguard client still crashes atleast 1 or 2 times a week..... When I did the AoC OB that client was crashing over 20 times in 3 hours.........I think you will see people come to a more stable game which they can actually play for periods of time with  hassle, upping the player base by 5% by christmas .. When Mines of moria releases it will be Number 1 on the NPD at launch .

    It is also a known fact that less time in game, will equal a more stable environment. If your computer does not have time to even heat up from your 30 minute or 1 hour playing session, you can easily bypass many issues.

    For example, I can quote at least 4 people right now who have had ZERO stability issues in AoC. Of course they maybe play an hour a day.

    When I played AoC for 2 hours or more, the client became more unstable. Yet, everytime I logged into LOTRO, I instantly got the hitching.

    Guess it just varies for different people.

    I guess the real goal here is to see how long a player needs to play to be satisfied with their game. LOTRO fans are very avid about their game being "Awesome" sauce, yet, AoC has the same rabid fans. So far both games show a player base who play 1-3 hours at most in the majority. Yet, why do so many others see issues in these games. If the game is so perfect to someone, why cant another person enjoy it as much as that fan?

    There is something you fail to consider. LOTRO has been out for over a year, AoC has been out for 2 months, people in one game are now just logging in for the end game while others in AoC are still leveling or creating alts and leveling them as well.

    Right now I play 1-3 hours per day and on Friday and Saturday I play for 6 hours (due to Raids and getting ready for them), there is not much for me to do in LOTRO besides Raiding.

    The only times I actually play more than 1-3 hours per day is when a new book is released and hopefully when MoM comes out.

    LoL have you seen the shape WAR is in . O thats right its ok because they are telling us they arnt ready but are going to release any way like that makes it ok to release a unfinished game . Go play WaR and Quit that game to in a month.

     

    I'm in WAR beta, there is no possible comparison with AoC.

    WAR is in a much better shape with what they have now

  • I ended up leaving as well, I do wish AoC all the success in the world. I had fun up until level 48 afterwards I just got bored.

    At least I spent money on a regular edition and not a Collectors.

    Lets hope to all folks that still play the game get their fixes.

    I AM cancelling. However, there is a lot more riding on the success of this game than may at first appear. Namely one other important project they are in discussions about. I still 100% believe that WAR is primarily being used as an experimental/reconnaissance mission for that Other Project. So i'm still going to be concerned about how well WAR does.

    Haven't heard of that one myself, although that is not to say this wouldn;t apply for it as well. I thought more people knew about the one I was talking about, I kinda feel like I'd be spoiling the surprise, but I'll give ya a clue- Warner Brothers is in on it as well.

    Imperator was in development for i think about 18 months then they shelved it to focus on WAR. It's based on the scenario that the Roman Empire didn't fall and has since expanded into space. It sounded fascinating and some of the screenies were pretty sweet.

    Last thing we need is Hogwarts Online LOL

      Warner Bros. signed with Turbine (40 mil) and I wouldn't be surprised if it was Harry Potter Online.

    I'm not canceling my pre-order. I'm in Beta and I know what's coming and it hasn't disappoint me yet.
