• • Should I even vote this election?

  • I'm seriously considering not voting in this election. It currently seems that Obama and McCain will have their own ways of further damaging the United States. McCain will continue with neo-conservatism and Obama will continue with over government spending and regulation, further screwing our economy (which I believe is of utmost importance).

    I believe myself to be a social moderate, economic conservative and more Libertarian then any other political party. Out of all previous canidates for this election I strongly supported Ron Paul.

    I've taken political candidate tests, researched each persons politcal idiologies, and looked into their past congressional voting record. In most issues I disagree with both candates with the exception of agreeing with less regulation and taxation with McCain, and agreeing with Obama on some defense issues and education spending.

    It might seem that I agree more so with McCain, but only hypothetically I do. Realistically this guy is another moron who can't talk straight, has increpencies with his voting record and current bullshit he claims, and has a moose hunter as a VP choice.

    I feel that if I give my vote to either candidate I will in some way to hurting our country in the future. But if I do not vote I'm just throwing away my ideas and right to vote. Its sad too since this will be my first election I can vote in being 18 years old, I was hoping to go into the election booths with pride.

    Anyone else in the same boat?

• • Last AGP card upgrade

  • I'm going to buy a new AGP card for my old computer, this will be the last upgrade before buying a new comp. So I was looking to buy a decent card that will run WAR nicely, under $150. Currently I am using a 6800 GT Ultra and getting fairly bad lag. Here is my other system stats.

    AMD 64 3200+ 2.0 Ghz

    2048 Gigs Ram

    Nvidia 6800 GT Ultra

    250 GB Hard Drive

     

    Was thinking about a 7600 GT but heard good and bad reviews. Never used ATI and haven't looked much into their older cards. Thanks for any help.

    I know, what a downer to read.  Still, I'm under the belief that all things, no matter how minor, are connected.  if I can head off one person's death by mentioning this whenever somebody pulls the "you're not special in any way, you shut up" card, it's worth doing.

    As an alternative I'm going to say I'm sorry but I'm of differing opinion as to head start speculation being completely useless.  Of course, all the worries in the world serve no purpose: what happens, happens.  However, if nothing else, speculation and worries occupy a bored mind.  As gamers, we should be able to appreciate the value of such entertaining delusion.

    Seems my bit of sleuthing based off this message hasn't panned out: Midnight EST has ocme and gone and SE Head Start has yet to begin.  Now we're down to two possibilities:

    1. The Pre-Order Launch Page, which says 7am EST

    2. This Herald News Post, Which says the Collector's Edition started an hour early (noon) of the planned time (1pm EST).

    Considering that the Collector's Edition Head Start was more recent, I'm wagering it'll be closer to #2.  However, there's a possibility Mythic will decide to forego a full 48 hour head start for Collector's Edition purchasers in favor of supporting what it says on the pre-order page.
