How I Learned to Love the Grind

Dauntless has finally left the land of NDA (nondisclosure) and it’s time to see what all the hub bub is about this game. Dauntless describes itself as a co-op action, RPG where you battle ferocious Behemoths, craft powerful weapons and forge your legend in the Shattered Isles. Posted Aug 21, 2017 by BrandedWolf

War Stories Hands-On Preview

World of Tanks

This week Wargaming, the makers of World of Tanks, revealed they're ready to take their mega-popular free-to-play game to a whole 'nother level with a single-player/co-op experience they're calling War Stories. With the big news ready to break at this month's GamesCom, they invited us to try the new mode ourselves. The new casual-friendly mode is set to do right by its thus-far-overlooked PvE fans and bring an interesting new dimension to World of Tanks.Posted Aug 17, 2017 by Neilie Johnson

Atlas Rises - You Can't Take the Sky from Me

No Man's Sky

Over the past year, Hello Games has been releasing major update patches for No Man’s Sky to try to bring us back to the stars. While the previous updates introduced new vehicles, base building mechanics, and fixes to graphical issues, No Man’s Sky’s 1.3 patch focuses on developing the story, new ways to play the game, UI improvements, and some MAJOR quality-of-life components. While there are many parts to the Atlas Rises update, in this review, I will be focusing four elements of the update. Posted Aug 16, 2017 by Damien Gula

Daybreak’s Got a Brand New Bag

Just Survive

Ok, that’s probably not our best title, but we’re running with it. H1Z1: Just Survive is now titled just Just Survive, as it’s breaking free from King of the Kill, and running off into its own zombie filled world with its own lore and own mechanics. The Daybreak Games team has been hard at work since October of 2016 overhauling most everything. The result is a game that is recognizable to its original release, but far more polished and playable today.Posted Aug 15, 2017 by William Murphy

Oriath Impressions - The Hype is Real

Path of Exile

I have been playing Path of Exile since the very first closed beta. It’s been my go to ARPG ever since then. Most importantly the depth of the game and the amazing replayability. Oriath changes a lot of the core game and some things I like and some things I dislike. It’s bound to happen, changes to a game we don’t like. For this look, I would like to just go over those things and express my concerns and express my joy depending.Posted Aug 4, 2017 by Josh Hay

Fortnite is a Game You Want to Try

I’m writing this, instead of playing Fortnite, because the game is currently down for maintenance and taking longer than anticipated because they’ve had to scale up exponentially and broke themselves. That’s a good problem to have, I suppose – game’s doing really well in sales and had to come down to increase server load. But while I wait, here’s why I think the crowd should give this one a look. Brightlocker Wants to Connect You to Your Games

Brightlocker is a new game development, game sharing, game funding, game streaming, game everything platform from a group of industry veterans based out of Austin Texas. What is it exactly? Try to imagine one service that connects the capabilities and functions of Kickstarter, Twitch, Social Media, and Private Forums all in one place. It’s a service that wants to connect players and devs in deeper ways than any before it, to let both work together to foster great games on a more tangible level.Posted Jul 25, 2017 by William Murphy

Citadel: Forged With Fire Open Beta Preview

Citadel had its open beta this weekend just days before its early access coming up on the 26th of July. The best way to begin our impressions feature is with three words: wizards, wands, and dragons. This sandbox takes what is best in games like Ark and DayZ and brings it into a solid fantasy genre where you are a wizard. Instead of guns and dinosaurs, you’ll have spells, staves, and plenty of monsters to battle and tame.Posted Jul 24, 2017 by Garrett Fuller

Not Ready for You, Yet

Preta: Vendetta Rising

One of the more interesting titles I’ve tried in my short time with the Oculus Rift has been Illion’s Preta: Vendetta Rising. Billing itself as a hybrid between Dark Souls and Monster Hunter, and always online with others, I was intrigued from the start. The intro, though bare bones with a story of amnesia you see coming a mile away, was also encouraging. Then you get into the town hub. And it all falls apart.Posted Jul 21, 2017 by William Murphy

Early Access Impressions - It's Rough Right Now, But There's Hope

Dark and Light

Dark & Light has finally arrived on Steam Early Access. It's one of those games a lot of people have really been looking forward to playing. While we truly believe that there is a good, if not great, game inside the current version, it just feels like Dark & Light should have stayed in development for a longer period of time before releasing into Early Access.Posted Jul 21, 2017 by Suzie Ford

LawBreakers Open Beta Impressions - I Got a Boot in the Face!

I recently sat down to give the Lawbreakers beta a whirl and here’s the gist of it. I had sliced, been sliced, fired rockets, got a boot in the face, chased around an enemy player who was carrying a smart ass talking ball, used an electric rope thingie to swing into walls, bounced around and left clicked a lot... all in the first 5 minutes. Someone get me some decaf...Posted Jul 10, 2017 by BrandedWolf

EXCLUSIVE: High School Fleet comes to Warships

World of Warships

Perhaps an unlikely duo, Wargaming’s World of Warships is about to get a heaping dose of Anime Injection via High School Fleet, a popular naval-based anime that’s perfectly suited to crossing over with the action of Warships. We spoke to Wargaming’s Trevor Smith about the event, and what players can expect. For even more info be sure to check the news at the official site. The update lands on live servers this coming Monday.Posted Jul 7, 2017 by William Murphy

Infinity Brings Custom Robo Battles to XBOX One and Windows 10

Last week, though we didn’t get to meet up with developer Freejam at E3, the guys hosted me for a demo of the upcoming XBOX One and Windows 10 edition of their hit Free to Play game, Robocraft Infinity. Due out in early 2018, RoboCraft Infinity will be a Buy to Play title, and that means the progression will be a bit more free-wheeling and open than what you currently find on the Steam version. Archeage Begins Impressions - Beautiful & Tempting

ArcheAge Begins is the new mobile game that shares its name with the Trion Worlds Archeage MMO that many of us are familiar with, but the comparisons stop there. ArcheAge Begins is in its second closed beta, but ironically is open to anyone who can find it. The closed beta has just wrapped up and all data has been deleted and will not be saved for Global Launch. Posted Jul 4, 2017

Unending Exploration and Crafting

Worlds Adrift

Worlds Adrift is something unique in the MMO world. Imagine a game where 90% of the landmass is created by players. Where the ecosystem reacts to the players’ actions – animals go extinct, become aggressive in response to encroaching players, and so forth. And with thousands of islands floating in the sky, all of the players play on one server. Posted Jun 29, 2017 by William Murphy
