Representatives of the Dutch city of The Hague are taking Niantic Labs to court on October 11th after repeated attempts to contact the company to restrict Pokemon Go from a protected beach location and during the hours of 11:00 pm and 7:00 am. According to city authorities, Niantic has not responded to requests from the city since mid-August so felt there was no alternative than court to settle the issue.

The Hague authorities are concerned about the environmental damage that the influx of of people might cause, but attempts to contact the company since mid-August have proved unsuccessful.

The Hague's demands are relatively simple: "to ban these small virtual animals in protected areas and in the streets from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am," with the authorities adding that, "Kijkduin will remain an attractive place for Pokémon hunters, but there will be less trouble for the residents and the damage to protected areas will be limited."

Niantic has removed the game from other locations in the world including the Holocaust Museum, Hiroshima and Auschwitz, and Tuol Sleng in Cambodia. Other lawsuits have been filed as well, including one in Michigan, USA.
