Sony Online Entertainment has announced that PlanetSide 2 is heading to Brazil thanks to a new partnership between SOE and UOL BoaCompra And Gamerica. Brazilian fans will get a first hand look at this weekend's Brazil Game Show.

For the next five weeks, through October 20th, PlanetSide 2's World Domination Series: Preseason Challenge will be taking place. Assisted by members of the PS2 team, each nation will take part in challenges designed to earn points for their chosen Empire, thereby establishing dominance.

PlanetSide 2 players now have the ability to create and sell in-game items thanks to the addition of Player Studio. Goods created by players can be sold for real-world cash. This feature has been present in EverQuest 2 for some time.

Sony Online Entertainment has released a brand new video to show off the Nexus Battle Island. The video showcases the huge indoor battle areas, the "ice cave" action, the power of ambushes throughout Frozen Canyon, tank battles and much more. Sony Online Entertainment has announced that PlanetSide 2 has been updated with the largest patch since launch. Included in the update are new vehicles, sci-fi inspired helmets and special decals in honor of Cinco de Mayo.

Sony Online Entertainment has announced that a new mobile application has been released for PlanetSide 2. The app allows players to keep in touch with certain aspects of the game including near real time updates to character stats, leaderboards and general updates from the battlefield, as well as voice chat with their outfit from the game.

PlanetSide 2 players who want to assist in the development and testing of new patches are being invited to the newly added Public Test Server. Instructions on how to get involved are posted on the official forums.
