This game just keeps getting better and better. I started this JAN and i wish i had started earlier. Don't know how i missed such a gem in MMO world.

And graphics are better then most of the modern MMO. Age Of Conan is the only one which can beat EQ2 graphically.

I reinstalled this after building this rig I hiave now which plays AoC at high. I could not get the graphics to look decent enough to make me wanna keep playing. How did you get the Grpx to look as good as they do in that screenie?

they just redid lavastorm so im sure the graphics look better cause it just got remodeled.  a lot of the older zones still look like a bucket of shit.  so it might not be your computer but the zones your in.

Shastra...though I love Everquest, there's no denying that The Lord of the Rings Online looks much better graphically.

I deny that LOTR looks better then EQ2. LOTR looks bland and lacking contrast everywhere. It's washed out and less immursive. Everything is tiny delicate shapes, it lacks large bold shapes at all. It's the polar opposite of WoW and that's not exactly a good thing from a visual design standpoint.

Lydon i never said LOTR is bad looking but if you take out sky and water out of picture, nothing much is left to see in LOTR.

Whereas EQ2 has better artistic style, awesome character models and the best animations i ever seen in any modern MMO.

I have to say I think LOTRO Is alot prettier. Not that it matters, but it all really boils down to personal prefence. However, EQ2 is a really pretty game for it's age, I remember SOE saying the engine they developed for EQ2 would evolve over time and they would periodicly upgrade the graphics of the game as the engine matured. They've not done it since, although the re-done zone might look better, I think they would be wise to re-vamp the game itself with the upgraded graphics, in order to stay viable and compete with newer, and upcoming games.
