I don't know how people can like this kinda over-the-top art-style so much for an MMO.  It just looks like a cartoon to me.

To each their own I guess.

@Alyosha some might like it, some dont but atleast both oppionons are always better then whatever you have to complain about. I tried to find one possitive post about a single game in youre history.. there is zero.. only bla bla bla cry cry cry even about the game you do seem to like a little atleast (FF)

For alyosha17: I don't understand how people can like the odd proportions characters have in FFXIV. Once you see the tiny head, you can't "unsee" it as they say.

So it's not hard to come up with criticism for every game out there, and I'm sure there are a lot more negative things about FFXIV than there are about GW2.

And I'm also fairly sure you've already expressed your opinion on the graphics of GW2 in another picture posted by this user, so why do you feel the need to tell us again?

Just assume that if I dont complaing about something, then I like whatever aspect I don't complaing about.

There's lots to like about GW2, but yeah, graphics aren't one of those things.  The environments are all done in what looks like childish primary colours.

alyosha17 is just a bitter little kid.  Nice picture though I happen to like the reflections...However, I do become easily distracted by sparklies...One time I caught myself chasing around a butterfly in Skyrim for several minutes but luckily I snapped out of it before the fluttering demon lured me into it's evil-trap-of-pain.

Being a fan of GW1, I'm fairly excited about GW2. However, it's almost scary how few of you are willing to be critical of the game and how readily you attack those who are. Personally I agree that GW2 art style can feel a little over the top, though I do love the environments and feel the design is great for instilling a sense of adventure. However, In a lot of cases, I prefer the GW1 style when it comes to character art. GW2 to me feels lik Anet wanted to push the envelope and try something new (like they did with GW1) but unlike GW1, they also wanted to design the game around being familiar to MMO players who grew up playing WoW or similar designs. I also miss the thousands of skill choices from GW1.

I'd really like to love FFXIV, but it lacks a lot of the feeling that FFXI had and a lot of the newer mechanics of more modern mmos.  If they redisigned the world (which they are) and moved to a more action rpg combat style with a huge library of skills to customize a character with like in GW1, and incorporated the have fun at any level / casual play mechanics of GW2, I'd probably have my perfect MMO. Also some form of large scale battles and world pvp!

It's a beautiful art style.  If they made it too realistic it would be boring like normal life.  People don't play games because they mimic real life.

The scenery reminds me a lot of Lotro.

This games world is a mirror of the GW books and after reading them my imagination when reading is coming alive now when playing.

I play as main FFXIV and FFXIV is the best looking game ever so far no question about that, but I like GW2 also and I plan to continue playing both games.
