You don't see this in retail versions. Beta gives an askewed view on how the game will be come retail time.

Instead of checking for bugs, server lag, and other technical stuff they will have more time to weed out trash such as spammers.

Just speaking from what I HAVE seen on the different retail versions, thank you very much.

Think about it. People are busy crafting, leveling up, PvPing etc.

It's more efficient to put your stuff up on the broker, which most people do...or advertise in trade chat.

Trust me, it will happen in retail if for no other reason than for people to annoy others -_-

@lifehue I've thought the same thing a number of times as I've ran into a city.  It's especially annoying (IMO) when they do this on top of the location that you port in.

@all Personal shops make little sense to me when there is a perfectly good auction system. The only people who will use personal shops are those who are trying to rip people off before they can compare prices at the AH.... well, that or they have to go AFK for 10 minutes for a bio, but these personal stores? No. They'll never be worth anyone's time.

I count 9 flags and 10 "billboards" in that picture. It doesn't take many people to ruin the view...

I thought they had a option to turn off personal shop keepers so you don't have to see such rot.

I don't know why, but I kind of liked the shops in L2. Its fun to window shop, but sucks to have to leave the game running all night to sell something.

You guys are mistaken, for crafters who craft a billion of the same item, personal shops will be used in conjunction with the auction house to reach a broader audience. The titles of the shops will catch peoples attention, and perhaps they will see something they like for cheaper than they would get on the auction house.

They should prohibit personal shops in the major cities (that"s why there are vendors and the AH in the city).  The majority of shops that I've encountered, the seller was AFK, and from this I loosely base an opinion that this "tool" will be used more for keeping the player in-game versus actually selling goods.
