Tatsumaki : New Company Website

Posted Feb 25, 2007 by Jon Wood

Eyes Out, the company behind Tatsumaki: Land At War, has launched a new company site with a gallery, download area, developer journals and more.

Tatsumaki: Land at War is back and is better than ever. We have launched a new company site which holds quite a bit of information that is updated daily. Some of the content includes: An image gallery showing off all of our new content, a download area which is filled with music with videos to come, and developer journals.

But thats not all we've been up to! We've officially launched ourselves into what we like to call 'Beta Phase 0', the stepping stone to some of the most basic of basics. We've also launched a new application area, in which you can apply for numerous positions. And while none of them are currently paying, you will gain the experience, satisfaction and enjoyment of helping us change the world of MMORPGs. So, whether you're a new member looking for a unique game, or an old member looking for a reason to return - you'll be happy at our new home.

Don't forget to stop by our forums as well, for a vast community that is growing every day.

You can get more on Tatsumaki here.

Intresting concept, however I have a feeling the old saying "You get what you pay for." will hold true here like it has many times in the past. Just can't expect volunteer teams to stick around or do professional quality work when you aren't paying them.

So is this a cross between A tale in the Desert and Roma Victor set in Feudal Japan?  Looking at the website I am alittle confused by their claim of weapons without unrealistic stats etc.  Umm... a true samurai sword can cut a man from stem to stern without a whole heck of a lot of problems....

They are offering spots in ALPHA for those who PRE-ORDER!! That's enough for me to not give them a second look.

They mean no +3 STR, +6 CON, etc. from weapons and armors and the like when they say 'unrealistic' stats.   Also, calling Tatsumaki an 'MMORPG' is a misnomer in my opinion.  It seems their goal would be more adequately described as an 'MMOSim.' An interesting concept.

They are actually in beta. "Beta 0"
Its currently just walking around. (just like the alpha) But with a new engine. (looks a lot better)
Unfortunately anyone who doesn't have a graphics card capable of Pixel Shader 2.0, can't play it right now... (1.0 compatible version is supposed to be coming soon though..)

I can't wait until "Beta 1" !!

[Yay! First post in 2007!]

Interesting and usual, looks like they are going for the realistic feel, I like it and I'm going to follow development.
