Trickster Online : Single Sign On Policy

Posted Aug 01, 2006 by Jon Wood

Game and Game, the company responsible for Trickster Online, announces the "Single Sign On" policy that will see all of their games incorporated into a single ID:

“game & game to implement Single Sign On policy and add six new games”

  • “Single Sign On (SSO)” policy to be in integrated into gamengame.com to allow gamers to play all games on game & game with a single ID
  • Six new online games to be unveiled along with the SSO policy announcement
  • Existing users can choose to maintain their IDs or upgrade to the SSO method

Seoul, July 18 – “game & game (www.gamengame.com, GNG), a free Korean online game portal site run by KIPA (Korea IT Industry Promotion Agency) announced that an SSO policy will be implemented on July 24th allowing users to access and play all game titles on GNG with a single ID. Along with the SSO policy, GNG will incorporate six new online games into the service.

The SSO policy is a “simplification measure” to save gamers the inconvenience of having to enter different IDs and passwords to access different games on the site. GNG has introduced numerous Korean online games on the website. Until now, different IDs were used to play each of the games. This was an inconvenience to the end user and created a need for a policy change to satisfy the consumer. GNG is introducing the SSO policy in an effort to empower users to play all the games with a universal ID.

The SSO policy will apply to any new games that will be launched on July 24th or there after. Pre-existing games in the GNG service will gradually be integrated into the SSO policy. It is important to note that the existing user base will decide how they want to access the games. Existing users can use their current subscription IDs and/or the new SSO method according to their preference. All new users subscribing after the SSO policy has been introduced, however, will play the games in the SSO method only. “Users have voiced a grievance about using different IDs on GNG, a site where they can freely download diverse Korean online games,” said an official with GNG. He continued to say, “With the introduction of the unified ID policy, overseas gamers interested in Korean online games can enjoy the GNG Korean online games catalogue in a more user friendly manner. We heard the consumer speak and we listened.”

Timed with the introduction of the SSO policy, GNG also unveiled that it would introduce six new online games on July 24th. The six highly anticipated titles are: Infinity, Cabal Online, Nostale, Ran online, Dragongem and Trickster. Most of the games are MMORPGs with Infinity and Cabal Online standing out as very popular in Korea. The style and game play of these games will likely be well received by international game communities.

“GNG plans to add games on a quarterly basis. Games showcased on the site will be available for approximately six months. After the promotional period, users can continue to play the Korean online games on their respective game sites. The six new online games being unveiled at this time are “break away” titles that have attracted incredible interest in the Korean online game market. With some localization for each of the major game markets, the games are expected to excite the international game community as well,” stated an official at GNG. He also alluded to plans for very significant game integrations in the future.

GNG is a Korean online game portal run by KIPA in an effort to introduce Korean online games to international game communities. Users can subscribe to the site and play a variety of Korean online games within diverse genres free of charge (e.g. MMORPG, action, sports, shooting). Detailed information on each game can be found on the GNG website (http://www.gamengame.com) .
