This year's PlayStation Awards are in the bag and Square Enix scored a "special award" for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. The Special Award is a new category for games that embody originality, buzz-worthiness, influence and performance.
Square Enix further announced that beta testing for the FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn PlayStation®4 system version will start the same day as the console’s release date in Japan on February 22nd, 2014. The official service start date for the PlayStation®4 system version is scheduled for April 2014.
As part of the 11th installment of Producer Letter LIVE, Naoki Yoshida (producer/director) will demonstrate the new PlayStation®4 system version at 4:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) on Saturday, December 14th, 2013. Other featured highlights will include content from the major Patch 2.1 update, scheduled to be released on Tuesday, December 17th: “The Wolves’ Den,” “Treasure Hunting,” and “Daily Beast Tribe Quests.”
