Mythic Entertainment, developer and publisher of the massively-multiplayer online game Dark Age of Camelot, today announced that Jeff Hickman has been named executive producer of Dark Age of Camelot. In this new role, Hickman will report to Matt Firor, vice president of development, and will manage the overall direction of Dark Age of Camelot by being responsible for design decisions and ongoing expansions to the game. Hickman has been with Mythic since 2001.
"Jeff Hickman has made significant contributions to the design and vision of Dark Age of Camelot in the last few years, and we look forward to having him officially in charge of the game," said Firor. "Jeff's dual backgrounds as a hardcore MMO player, and his experience directly serving our community, give him a unique perspective on MMO game design. Mythic Entertainment is dedicated to maintaining Dark Age of Camelot's position as a leading MMORPG for many years to come, and Jeff will continue to steer the game in that direction."
Hickman was hired in 2001 as director of customer service for Mythic, and was responsible for all aspects of customer support, product quality, and testing since Dark Age of Camelot's launch. Hickman joined Mythic Entertainment with a background in managing high-volume call centers, and his talent in understanding the MMO genre led him to work in design and production. After a high-level of success with patches and expansions, Hickman led the design team for Dark Age of Camelot: New Frontiers, the game's highly-anticipated, and well-received, Realm versus Realm combat expansion. Hickman also led the design team for Dark Age of Camelot: Catacombs, the game's most recent retail expansion.
