Lord of the Rings Online : SOTW: LOTRO Anniversary Edition Winner's Announcement!

Posted May 01, 2012 by Michael Bitton

We recently partnered up with Turbine for a special Screenshot of the Week contest to celebrate The Lord of the Rings Online's 5th anniversary, and today we're ready to announce our winners!

Let's get right to the good stuff then, shall we?

Grand Prize Winner: Chi55

Lifetime VIP Membership to LOTRO

"The screen is from Mirkwood's epic quest, by far my favourite part of LOTRO's epic story. I really loved the whole Mirwood's atmosphere, lights and colours and this part of the epic was the best one, I entered this place and found a stunning, beautiful sky with that big moon over me and then realized there was that nasty thing up there waiting for me. You have to know I have a strong arachnophobia in real life and facing spiders in games awakes my inner "Eeeeeeeek!!! KILL IT, KILL IT NOOOOW!" soul.. I had a great time in Mirkwood :P"

First Prize Winner: Rinthael

LOTRO Mithril Edition

"When I first set foot in the halls of my forefathers, I felt awed and humbled. The beauty of the stone, the delicacy of craftsmanship surpassed anything I have ever dreamt of. For the first time in my life I felt as a rightful son of the mighty Durin, and my heart was glad.

Yet there were some who did not understand our ways. "Your people live in holes they had dug themselves. They shun the sun, the flowers, the trees. They are as cold as the stone they tread upon." We did not oppose them. But secretly, we built. We worked relentlessly through day and night, hidden from the unwanted stares, until our shiniest jewel was completed.

And here it will remain, to remind the generations to come, that once, at least once, the Elves were wrong."

Second Prize Winner: Ruppi

5,000 Turbine Points

"At first happy Birthday for the 5th Anniversary from a Croatian born and living in Germany! ;-)

Then a picture of the best fishing event I´ve ever seen! Short story: we were hungry! :-)"

Congratulations to all our winners for their lovely screenshots and stories! Check back soon as we'll be kicking off this week's Screenshot of the Week shortly!
