Gamepot USA and Square Enix have announced that Fantasy Earth Zero will be closing down on March 21, 2011. The official site has been updated with a schedule of events leading up to the final 'pulling of the plug' on March 21st. The end of FEZ will occur less than a year after the game launched in spring of 2010. Players can still game on FEZ servers until the official shut down.

To all of my friends in Fantasy Earth Zero,

It is with tremendous sadness and a heavy heart that we had to close down Fantasy Earth Zero, its forum, and all social network outlets for it.

However, I want to take this opportunity to thank our loyal player base for the love and support that they have shown since the game was launched.

I felt privileged to be able to work alongside with all of you guys, and be a part of your daily life.
