Star Wars Galaxies : Hotfix Adds Double Chronicles XP, Tokens

Posted Nov 05, 2009 by Michael Bitton

Hotfix 14.5 applied today adds double XP and tokens for the Star Wars Galaxies Chronicles system. In addition to the XP boost, the hotfix also addressed a number of bugs found in the Death Troopers update, and adds a bazaar to the Dathomir quarantine zone.

The full hotfix notes can be viewed here.

Same reason people are getting into DDO and some of the other games thought dead.  For a small portion of the population, this game is still providing amusement.  Until SW:TOR comes out, it is the only Star Wars game on the market and so it is the only long lasting method in which some get their Star Wars fix.  Everyone is entitled to an opinion.  Its just... some people feel the need to blast their opinions into everyone's ears while others are more mature and passive about it.

The game is quite entertaining tbh. There's a lot to do, and there's still a lot of players on it. Sure it's not the old pre nge/cu SWG, but it doesn't mean it isn't good ... and the devs (which were changed several time I believe since the nge/cu fiasco) are making it better and better everyday (the chronicle system for instance).

The game was more enjoyable for me until they added tons of micro transactions to get loot (TCG) and the collections system which has horrible drop rates on certain items.

I don't mind the card game.  Seriously, most of the things it offers are vanity items anyway, so there's no real reason to force yourself to play it unless you either HAVE to have the At-At themed house or like to play collectible card games.  I am playing SWG on the Starsider server.  There's tons of people on there with old as well as new characters.  Its fun to me.  The questing system is neat, the ability to do quests for people like Jabba the Hutt or the Emperor creates a bit of immersion.  And yes, I am a pre-CU player that has only come back in the past two weeks.  I know what it was like - I miss my old Master TK/Master Pikeman.  But hell, even though you prefer chocolate icecream, vanilla is better than no icecream at all.

What crying would that be?

I don't give a rat's ass one way or the other if people like the game, hate the game, wether it lives or dies. It's simply an observation and question. Wherein the lies the financial sense in continuing to inject resources into a game that will most assuredly not survive (in any profitable fashion) the release of SWTOR?

Should imploy less knee-jerk defensive fanboy reaction, tbh

If you are a collector like me and like to decorate your house the tcg is a big smack in the face.
