Part four of the Art Direction Dev Diary series running on the official Black Prophecy website gives us some insight into the art direction behind the Tyi faction.
The Tyi logo reveals much about the mentality of the faction. Art Director Nick Ebenhoch describes the Tyi faction as aspirants of strength and technological progress. To reflect this in the faction's logo, the team went with a large metal design with two metal rings which Nick describes as illustrating a complex system. The Tyi often make use of the colors red, yellow and orange, which were chosen to give the faction a more aggressive appearance.
Tyi ships are visually somewhat similar to Human designs, favoring a modular design and generally being longer and flat. Space stations are also modular in design and share some similarities with Human designs as well. For example, Tyi stations are often built wider as opposed to higher, and consist of modules that are linked together through connectors that give the stations a kind of "road network" look.
