The patch notes for today's build of Darkfall are now available. Today's patch is significant as it will lay the groundwork for Darkfall's upcoming October Expansion update. The patch includes a number of changes, the highlights of which you can find below:

- Ship improvements: A number of naval warfare improvements are included in today's patch, such as a reduction in speed for damaged ships so they are unable to flee as easily, an overall reduction of ship HP, relaxed requirements on the production of ships, and more.
- Crafting: The pace at which players will skill up in crafting has been increased when producing higher tier weapons.
- Visual Updates: A number of visual improvements have been made to the game world.
- Weapons: New elemental bows and one handed clubs have been added to the game.
- Magic: A balance pass has been made on magic abilities and schools. Some things have been improved such as an increase in skill up rates for the different schools, and a reduction in ingredient costs for various spells. While other aspects have been toned down, such as more strict requirements on AoE spells and backstabbing.
- UI Improvements: A bevy of UI improvements have been implemented with today's patch, one such example is the inclusion of first person animations for bows, staves and grenades while running and walking.
- Village System: Village control points will output an increased rate of gold, but will be balanced by a reduction in health. Also, players will be alerted 30 minutes before a village becomes vulnerable.
- Monsters: Attacking creatures as opposed to players will net you triple the skill ups.
