It showed off some cut scenes and some footage of the game's engine showcasing different environments and it's inhabitants. There was no game play footage, no footage of someone playing the game... However, it still looked awesome. Seems like they have some talented artists at ArenaNet, there were a lot of interesting environments/locations. Great eye candy.

Looks really good. I'm especially happy to see that they didn't stick with the old warrior character models for humans. The old one was really bad. This new one looks really good and makes him look like a valiant warrior instead of an ignorant brute. Sylvari are beautiful as well. Overall I'm happy with the trailer but am disappointed they didn't release anything else on the game like class details and such.

Good times ahead though.

a little disappointing... i thought they would reveal more of the game than just a few landscapes after keeping silent for so long. the animated artwork was kinda neat, tho.

That was absolutely awesome! The art style looks pretty similar to the original Guild Wars. I can't wait for this game, if it's anything like the original Guild Wars it will be fantastic!

NOWHERE does it say gameplay footage is only that if someone is playing it. That is complete and utter NONSENSE. Gameplay consists of not only your character and its interactions, but the environment in which it will play. That is gameplay.

It looks like you'll be able to swim underwater. Unless it's like the Aion trailer where it shows a scene under water but is never put in the game. :-p

Can't wait to play an Asura.

Read the interviews and articles ;) There will be an underwater continent...and you can swim. When the game was first announced they mentioned climbing trees too.

I wasn't that impressed.  I thought the AoC and SWTOR trailers were better.  The game does look pretty good.  The trailer just didn't "excite" me.

A darker version of Aion with some steam punk thrown in? Looks to be an open world but is it all instanced as in GW?  We will see.  Could be good could be another asian grinder.

Grinding and Guild Wars do not go together. The first game only has 20 levels. Most of the game you play maxed out.

Yep, which was one of my favorite things about Guild Wars. Nothing about it was grindy. You could have max gear after a couple of hours of playing and be max level after a day. The game is about playing and enjoying the content and PvP, not about endlessly grinding.

From the FAQ ( www.guildwars2.com/en/faq/ ):

Will Guild Wars 2 be an MMO?

Yes. Guild Wars 2 provides a massive, online persistent world.

How is Guild Wars 2 different from other MMOs?

While Guild Wars 2 adds a persistent-world experience, it retains the unique characteristics of the original game, including strong narrative, extensive instanced gameplay, anti-grind design philosophy, and strong support for competitive play.

This excites me a great deal. The in-game scenery looks very good, and GW is a well put-together game. I really like the lore of Tyria, so here's hoping this game comes out nicely. The only problem with GW is that the game, while fantastic, keeps reminding me that it is in fact a game. It doesn't feel like a living world, and that can be a problem for many MMO players.

*crosses fingers*

EDIT: Freaking typos!

For whoever it was that said that this could be another Asian grinder, or anything like Aion at all, I simply must say that perhaps you should play the first GW, or read anything about the game at all before you speak. Arenanet is adamantly anti-grind. They make sure you do not grind. GW was about a well-told story in their campaigns, very difficult "instances" later on, and very serious competitive PvP.

Just like with BioWare, they are staying kinda tight lipped atm. At least we know a bit more.

 yes, f.e. dragon hunting.

5) Will there be a ecnomy this time around

probably yes, since there is a crafting system.

6) (Said something about Armor not being Class oriented,) so How will it be organised

never heard of that.

8) Can I fight along side the Dragons at some point

not alongside the new  dragons. they're totally evil and stuff.

It should at least knock Final Fantasy XIV and all the false hyping going on off the hype list. That's a real Asian grinder right there. Seems as if they are already grinding hype for that game. SWTOR comes back up to the top, later that day you see a bunch of one post wonders coming in and hyping FF back up. The Hype for SWTOR is real, the hype for FF not so much.

I loved the trailer, made me 100 times more excited for the game. I hope it is just as unique as the first GW and that the devs weren't too influenced by popular MMOs like WoW or all the after-WoW clones.

The environements look absolutely stunning. Just like in first GW it looks like a painting broguht to life. Some serious talent working at Arenanet. The only issue that I have is the character design which is waaaaaaay to anime-ish. That warrior looked, and no dissrespect to the homosexuals, gay. Bring back the warriors from first GW!!!

Well, that's the problem with the Hype/rating meter; nothing is stopping the crazed fanatics of any game from rating it ten over and over and over. The hype and ratings here have never actually meant anything, which is a shame. That said, I am sure Hype for GW2 will skyrocket to the top, at least for a little while.

A lot of pessimistic people here. Looks a little bit too colorfull  .. yes. The warrior looks like gay, but i think the face and the haircut is the problem, which can be changed.  The graphics - the best i've seen till now, looks really like inside the game in the second part.  But .. i don't think it'll be a grinder. No mounts unfortunatelly as they are cool part really. I hope there is no high heels for female characters and such rabbish.

The graphics are stunning, better than Aion i think, now the important thing is the gameplay. If the gameplay is good this will be a blast. I admit i like wow, but some parts of it is annoying.  So .. there is a hope for a real nice game to play. I wish them success and waiting.

Here is a list of the Non-Human races you can choose to play. They seem to answer alot of questions on the FAQs on their website you guys are all asking.

•Charr - Ascalon's conquerors, the charr are ferocious, warmongering creatures--the intractable foes of humanity. Now, as greater dangers threaten their conquests, charr legions and their war machines prepare for battle.

•Norn - The norn are towering brawlers from the frigid northern lands who can shape-shift into mighty bestial forms. Driven from their homeland by a force beyond reckoning, the norn have regrouped among the dwarven ruins of the Shiverpeaks.

•Asura - The asura, who once ruled the caverns and tunnels below Tyria, are an advanced race of small size and great intellect. Now that they have risen from below, the asura aim to rule the surface world with their powerful golems and ingenious plans.

•Sylvari - Not much is known of the sylvari, save that they are a race of sentient plant-beings, newly blossomed into the world. The sylvari are the youngest of the races, bound together by a common dream and awesome power.

Time to whine a little more about the trailer ^^
because:

Human: Not as stylish as GW1. Looks like a anime-fantasy-noob in shiny armor on his way to save a princess or something. Gay.

Charr: Charr still rule.

Norn: Norn still look like... well, humans. Just aren't distinct in any way. Norn really need to be reworked.

Asura: Used to be white and fluffy, now they look like ugly gnomes. Fail.

Sylvari: Ok i guess.
