Huxley : Closed Beta For All at Fileplanet

Posted Aug 04, 2009 by Michael Bitton

If you're interested in participating in the Closed Beta test of Huxley, Fileplanet is currently distributing closed beta keys to all registered users.

There is a catch, however. This offer is only valid for users in the US & Canada. Also, testers will need to create an ijji.com account to participate in the closed beta.

Get your key here. Remember, you do NOT have to be a paid subscriber to participate in this offer. All registered Fileplanet  users in the US & Canada can take part.

Don't have an ijji.com account? Sign up for one here!

Bah, once again us li'l ol' Europeans are second class citizens. i suppose I could lie and pretend I'm from the good ol' US of A but I'm not  convinced this beta is worth the shame. For a SWATOR beta pass however, heck I'd even apply for a green card!

When I attempted to register at FIleplanet using Firefox, I received and invalid "captcha" code. Registering using Internet Explorer did work.

The download is not quite 4GBs and the System Requirements given at Fileplanet list a need for 22GB of free disk space.

If you're using XP 64 don't even bother.

The rootkit known as, sorry I mean cheat protection known as gameguard won't run with Huxley on that OS.

Don't even bother tying up your machine for this download.  Complete waste of time.  This is one of those MMO's that have taken far too long to develop.   The list of issues this game has is far too long to list.

That download looks to be a plugin for your browser in order to update the game files but I have not been able to start the game yet. One reason for not being able to start is that the servers are up only for a limited number of hours during the day starting at 2:00pm PDT. I think that is GMT -6.
