AdventureQuest : 6 Million Players

Posted May 19, 2009 by Keith Cross

Artix Entertainment has announced that AdventureQuest Worlds now boasts more than 6 million registered users.

Launched just over six months ago, the popular web-based MMORPG AdventureQuest Worlds (www.AQ.com) is proud to announce that it has exceeded 6 million registered players. Created by the home grown team at Artix Entertainment, LLC, this anything-goes fantasy MMORPG features chat, real-time-combat, wars, and live events, and has had more than one brand new release per week since launch.

To celebrate, AdventureQuest Worlds is preparing to release its first world boss (or Chaos Lord). This is the exciting conclusion of their first storyline which takes place along an M.C. Escher inspired valley featuring original and creative 2D game art.

Why do free-to-play MMOs insist on using account numbers as something significative? Farmers bot account-creation for their ad-spam-purposes, inactive accounts get counted on these numbers, so many factors which can make the real active player number not even close to the published number.

I agree with you and also i play the game my self and there is like hust about 8 servers and i think each can only hold like 2000 people, so most of them are most likely created by bots, and also many of them are likely to be inactive too.

Another meaningless number for a meaningless game.    Just for grins I dare any of these f2p games to list the number of paying customers instead.  Bet that would easily be in the low 5 digits if that.
