Entropia : Triple Skill Bonus and Alien Invasion

The folks at Entropia have announced an event where players can defend their planet from an invading army of space robots and earn 3 times the normal amount of skill experience.
Every participant will receive 3 times the normal amount of skill experience gains during this period. The bonus will be in effect for all professions, during all activities throughout planet Calypso, Crystal Palace and Club Neverdie for this period.
A dark shadow has fallen over the cities of Calypso: robot mother ships have appeared in the sky. Startled colonists have gathered watching the ominous steel hulks. Fear has spread through the colony as it scrambles to prepare for a fight.
3 Times as many Skill Points
Join the battle now and receive 3 times the normal skill experience gains between December 5th and 21st. Enlist today and help recover new robot technology that can give the colony an edge. Miners and crafters are needed to supply the troops on the front line.
The Government will reward colonists that can salvage all the pieces of new technology with 15 complete sets of Protector of the Empire armor. Calypso needs you now!

Normally such events would get me excited, but considering one has to pay for each bit of ammo used everything just gets insanely expensive in the end.
This is kind of funny, they essentially want you to feed their coffers with real money buying ammunition so you can kill aliens?
These guys are king of the scam artists.
Yeah, you pay for ammo, but you neglect saying that the skills you gain also can be SOLD for REAL money. Duh! Everything is connected in the Entropia economy. But the typical "I-don't-get-it-it-must-be-a-scam"-comments are just showing the lack of understanding of the posters part.
The Triple Skill Bonus has really helped me get a boost on some of the areas that are more difficult to skill in
I love how every1 brushes this "virtual world" off. Its actually very interesting. I dont "participate" any more only cause i play WAR, but i did for 1 yr. i put in 50$ and after 1 yr, withdrew 500$. Not because of luck, but because the economy allows this possibility. Because of another player who decided to invest in me, i actually pulled in 300$ in 1 month and gave him 100$ of it for his investment.
The only thing interesting is that people are dumb enough to play a MMOG that is one huge item shop.
And bonus experience gimmicks don't belong in any MMOG ever.
But it is a scam, because most people lose money on the game, few come out ahead. Just like a pyramid scheme they get shills to say how much money they won all the while knowing this is a rare occurance.

Lol - it isn't a scam. It is the WAY THEIR BUSINESS MODEL works. It is available on their web site for crying out loud. You as a player PAY for the activities. The game never PROMISE that you will make any money - all it does is saying it gives the OPTION to earn real money (which almost no other mmo does) from your ingame experience, your items and the time you put into it.
People crying about scams are just blaming someone else for their inabillity to either understand or read information.
