General : Dragon Age: Origins: The Golems of Amgarrak DLC Trailer

Posted Jul 28, 2010 by Michael Bitton

BioWare recently announced new DLC for their brutal epic fantasy RPG Dragon Age: Origins (Awakening too!). Dubbed "The Golems of Amgarrak" the new DLC is said to be hardest add-on adventure yet, and will see the player join with Jerrik the Dwarf who is in search of his brother, appropriately named Brogan, in the eponymous Amgarrak thaig within The Deep Roads.

Players will be able to use their Wardens from either the main Origins campaign or even their Orleisian Warden from Dragon Age: Awakening to take part in "The Golems of Amgarrak." The DLC will appear in the game's Other Campaigns section of the main menu as opposed to on the game's world map.

Unfortunately, pricing details are currently unavailable. However, with a release date set for August 10, we expect details to be forthcoming.

In the meanwhile, why don't you check out the debut trailer for "The Golems of Amgarrak"?

Yep, the EA cashcow is rolling. Seeing Dragon Age II is announced for Early 2011 I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more news in the coming weeks.

From what i've read here: http://g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/706562/Hands-On-With-Dragon-Age-2.html

This may be a similar case of ME vs ME2, where the improvements over the first game could be so great that it makes it almost impossible to even go back and play the original. If that happens it would kind of make buying any of these DLC's a silly move.

Anything beyond Awakening was just over kill to me anyways.

I can't wait for MMORPG.com write up on the New Madden 11 game or maybe Street fighter vs Tekken

Whilst I fully understand why you are saying that i still think that DLC such as this is valid content and value for money. At least it is genuine full content, not padded out with time wasters and fluff. The campaigns are usually long, the new features and items are interesting and fulfilling.

There is a move to milking the customer in just about all forms of gaming now but I'm of the honest opinion that Bioware ( as opposed to EA generally ) strive to at least give us something in return to not make it appear the robbery it so often is in other games.

(think on this, Cryptic, intheir shallow, repetetive and empty "MMO" 'Star trek Online' are just adding more and more fluff to their Cryptic store and now are selling items per character  so that yes, you CAN buy it again and again for every character (providing you have already bought the extra character slots ).)

DLC is a cash cow for many companies, but it's here to stay and is becoming the norm. At least Bioware are attempting to give value.

Yeah, Dragon Age is not an MMO but it is one of the most eagerly awaited RPGs of recent years and I expect that many MMO players will be interwested in this news peice. It's not a 'write-up' or an article. It's just a report of news for those who may be interested.

Why is this article on MMORPG.com? Probably worth a forum post, but frontpage news on a website dedicated to MMO's? How much were you paid?

Wheeee new stuff! I hope one of these will be a bridge to DA2 or at least a closer.

I will be so dissapointed if the climax was as empty as the last one (Lilieana's story).
