Matrox TripleHead2Go Review

What would you do if your playing area was a big as three monitors put together? Well, that's exactly the question that writer Carolyn Koh tried to answer last week as she penned a review of Matrox's TripleHead2Go device that allows the user to spread their screen over three different montiros to create a panoramic gaming style.

Here are some memorable moments from Carolyn's review.

  • What if I told you that you could get 51" - 57" of vivid eye-candy goodness for about $700? Would you do it?
  • I didn't need three identical monitors.
  • Plugged [the monitors] in, installed the software, followed instructions and... it worked. There was my windows desktop spread over three monitors.
  • In laymen's terms; through the TripleHead2Go, your system now thinks it has a wide-screen monitor to play with and your view of the game now stretches out in a panorama over the screens.
  • The device itself is a handsome little box. Black metal and well ventilated. Smaller than a CD case in length and width, and about half an inch high.
  • There's just one word. Sweet! After using the SGU to create a new config file, I launched them and there was World of Warcraft and Dungeons and Dragons Online spread out in glorious 2400 x 600 pixel goodness.
  • The Matrox TripleHead2Go brought back the immersion of the first person camera view for me.

Comic Con and Game/On

Last weekend saw the coming and going of the New York Comic Con. For a convention that has traditionally been all about the comics, there were a ton of MMO companies there. MMORPG.com's own Garrett Fuller, Hasani Davis and Joe Iuliani were at the show. Look ahead all week to our ComicCon coverage, or jump right in today and look at the photo gallery that the guys brought home for us.

You can visit the gallery here.

Recently, Garrett Fuller attended the New York Comic Con. While there, he caught up with some folks from Dark Horse Comics to talk about their Conan franchise and how that taps into the upcoming Funcom MMORPG, Age of Conan. The interview takes place in the bustle and noise of the show floor!

Game of the Week
Game of the week

This week's Game of the Week is a game that promises: blisterning naval comabat, a PvP conquerable world, cutting-edge graphics, sophisticated missions, dramatic avatars, and action for every play style. Pirates of the Burning Sea is, as the title suggests, a nautical, high-seas MMORPG.

Being developed by FLying Lab Software, this game will appeal to players who: enjoy the high seas, are looking for a new kind of MMORPG experience, or who just feel like getting their pirate on.

At this past week's Comic Con, Garrett Fuller had a chance to speak with Troy Hewitt about the game. The article will sppear later this week at MMORPG.com, so keep someone in the crow's nest with an eye out for that.

You can visit the game's official website here.
