More than a few Carbine developers have posted to Twitter that they have been given notice and are no longer working for the company. There is also a post on the WildStar forums that indicates that the company has undergone a reorganization and that the studio will be focused on operating and updating the live game in the US and EU and have cancelled plans to release the game in China. As a result, staff reductions have been put into place.

Blizzard has released the first cinematic trailer for the next expansion to Hearthstone. Called 'Whispers of the Old Gods', the announcement was made at the ongoing North American Spring Tournament earlier today.

Daybreak's Russell Shanks has published a letter on the EverQuest Next site that announces the sad news that the game has been cancelled. Citing big dreams, Shanks said that the development had fallen "short of finding the fun".

Today, after more than a year in the dark, it was announced by Daybreak Games that development has ceased on the highly anticipated MMORPG, EverQuest Next. As players and fans, we've been in limbo for so long, but it still comes as a blow that such a wildly impressive concept will never see the light of day.
