During today's investor call-in, Activision-Blizzard revealed the fourth quarter results for 2013. Bobby Kotick stated that World of Warcraft subscriptions were up to 7.8 million, slightly higher than last quarter's 7.7 million. In addition, Starcraft II was the best selling PC title in 2013 and Diablo III has sold over 15 million copies across all platforms.

Jagex CTO/CEO Mark Gerhard has posted a long update on the Transformers Universe site. In it, he indicates that 2013 was an important, yet quiet, year in the game's development but that things are changing forthwith. Fans can expect to get timely and frequent updates from the development team from here out. In addition, and most importantly, Gerhard announced that Transformers Universe is 100% on track for a summer release.

I'll admit something, that's probably apparent from earlier previews and columns I've written: I've been wary of Elder Scrolls Online living up to the immense hype created by the Elder Scrolls IP. And yet, with every passing time I've seen the game, I've seen many of my worries addressed by (most notably) making ESO feel more like a true entry into the Elder Scrolls franchise.

Former 38 Studios CEO Curt Schilling has revealed that he is battling cancer. In a statement released by Schilling's current employer, ESPN, it was revealed that the former baseball star turned video game developer is suffering from the disease. The exact type of cancer and his prognosis is not immediately known.
Since 38 Studios went bankrupt in 2012, Schilling and other studio officers have been embroiled in legal battles with the state of Rhode Island over a $75 M loan.
Additionally, the Project Copernicus and Kingdoms of Amalur IPs have been put up for auction in recent months but with no buyers in sight.

Kingdom Under Fire II is an action strategy RPG/RTS from Blueside and Phantagram. Offering three factions and three classes, one hundred types of troops, and several MMO features, the game allows players to engage in RTS combat while leveling up heroes and troops in an RPG fashion.
