The Lost Ark team hosted a media conference this week that revealed some new information about the forthcoming game including, most notably, a bit about its potential business model. While many players have championed a subscription model, the team feels that this is not the best course for the game but is also cognizant of the fact that any type of cash shop would need to be carefully managed.

Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen's Brad McQuaid took part in a special AMA via /r/MMORPG earlier today. During the 'Ask Me Anything' event, Mr. McQuaid fielded a number of community questions including the team's vision for the end game, whether or not there will be instanced raids, how Visionary Realms plans to prevent 'early sunset' ala Vanguard, quest hubs, grind, live events, a player-driven economy and much more.

No Man's Sky is a hard game to quantify. I mean, we initially included it on MMORPG's list because we (along with many others) expected it to be a multiplayer experience akin to say Elite: Dangerous. But as launch drew closer, we began to realize that No Man's Sky is indeed a single-player experience. Multiplayer modes may be coming, but for now what we have is a massively single player exploration RPG, sort of what would happen if Pokemon Snap (remember that game?) and Interstellar had a baby in video game form. The question is, after all the hype and all the waiting... is it any good?

A new Reddit thread has cropped up on the No Man's Sky Reddit channel that asks "Where is the NMS we were sold on?" The thread is a collective of all the things that players feel were promised but never made it into the game and about "how the game is being advertised". It is a lengthy, but very active post.

Last week I wrote about the change Pearl Abyss weremakingtotheirin-gamestore and the introduction of players being able to sell Pearl items on the Marketplace. The discussion on the topic, unsurprisingly, was pretty heated. Some welcomed the change, some loathed it and some insinuated that Daum outright lied to their consumers. Irrespective of the furore surrounding the controversial change, I'm keen to hear what your thoughts are now that it's live.
