Valve to Be More Active to Prevent Malicious Review Bombs

Valve's Alden Kroll has posted a lengthy article on the Steam Blog to let players know that the company will be taking a more active role in the prevention of "malicious review bombs". Valve originally thought to remove scores altogether but decided not to change the current system. As a result, part of the company's new role in preventing malicious review bombs will be the introduction of new graphs to allow people to see a game's player reviews longitudinally.

Each game now has a "histogram of the positive to negative ratio of reviews over the entire lifetime of the game, and by clicking on any part of the histogram you're able to read a sample of the reviews from that time period." Alden wrote.

You can check out the full blog on the Steam site. You may also want to head to your favorite game and check out the histogram for yourself.
