Mail.ru has opened a new division within the company to help foster and support games development. The $100M investment division is available to help fund "accomplished game studios and publishers" along with new developers.
Funding applications are already open for developers looking for a financial shot in the arm. Mail.ru is willing to provide assistance to entire companies or to individual projects.
In addition to financial support, Mail.ru will assist with other support through the company's resources and services including marketing opportunities, software solutions and analytics.
“Games remain one of Mail.Ru Group’s top priorities. Starting games investment division is a logical next move to facilitate business development by significantly increasing the company’s potential in that segment. Our new games investment division will expand Mail.Ru Group’s investment platform allowing us to provide venture financing, as well as to increase our M&A activity,” says Boris Dobrodeev, CEO (Russia) of Mail.Ru Group.
