According to Redlinechina.com, a Chinese Game Company is about to release the closed beta test for its upcoming MMO title. While this, in and of itself doesn't often make our news here at MMORPG.com, it is the unique formula that they are using that has piqued our interest.
It seems that the company in question has produced two different versions of the game. In the end, they will go with the most popular and farm good qualities from the other. It's certainly a unique approach to beta.
Chinese game company Zhengtu launched the closed beta for its latest MMORPG Juren. The test includes two versions of the game for players to choose from and the company will commercialize the more popular version while incorporating favorable elements of the other. Since the game Zhengtu was widely criticized for its potentially high virtual item costs, Juren will limit each player’s monthly spending to approximately 60 RMB ($8). In addition to the traditional MMORPG content, Juren will also embed numerous casual games such as racing and cards to increase the game’s stickiness.
