Blizzard has announced that BlizzCon 2019 will take place in Anaheim, California on November 1st and November 2nd. Ticket sales will be held on two separate dates: Saturday, May 4th starting at 10:00 am Pacific / 1:00 pm Eastern and on Wednesday, May 8th at 7:00 pm Pacific / 10:00 pm Eastern.
For the first time this year, there is the new BlizzCon Portal Pass, "a separate ticket option that offers an array of perks to enhance the BlizzCon experience". This includes access to Darkmoon Faire during the special Night at the Faire event ahead of the start of BlizzCon. It also includes "convenience-related" extras such as preferred parking, separate registration and security lines, a special lounge and the opportunity to "mingle with Blizzard employees" and more.
The normal BlizzCon Pass will retail for $229, the BlizzCon Portal Pass is $550 and the BlizzCon Benefit Dinner Pass is $750.
BlizzCon 2019 will feature a wide range of attractions and activities for attendees, including in-depth developer panels, world-class esports competition, and opportunities for community creativity to shine in the spotlight. In addition, BlizzCon is expanding to include more active hall space at the convention center as well as the new “BlizzCon Pregame Festivities”—a fun and casual get-together running outside of the convention center on the day before the show.
“BlizzCon has served as a home away from home for the Blizzard community, a place where online friends can meet up in real life and new friendships are formed,” said J. Allen Brack, president of Blizzard Entertainment. “We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to the show this year, reconnecting, celebrating, and sharing some of our latest developments.”
This year, attendees will not receive the usual BlizzCon Goodie Bag. Instead, folks will receive the BlizzCon 2019 Commemorative Collectible in the form of one of two statues "in the style of the Blizzard Legends series" in celebration of Warcraft's 25th anniversary. One is an Orc Grunt, the other a Human Footman.
