Rift: Storm Legion Mage Soul: The Harbinger

Earlier today we hosted an exclusive developer reveal with the Rift team. During the chat, devs talked about the Harbinger, a new mage soul that will be forthcoming in the Storm Legion expansion. Check out the video if you missed the live event!

Oh i am prefectly fine though with the changes to the pet souls with their talents that effect pets, being universal that way you might actually have a pet-build that can actually be worthwhile overall. Though i am hopinng that beastmaster in the warrior calling gets more then just one pet type in it, like getting a bear, maybe even a drake (far less intelegent versions of dragons that are also smaller.). Although afew of the ideas i remeber getting tossed around the forum i loved to hear and think about were; totemic warriors that shifted form taking on characteristics of different animals via focusing on that totem beast, so ganing more beastial looks while remaining humanoid kinda a step back from wow druids. Of course my own favorite that being the fencer/duelist basically a single weapon using class that uses alot of debuffs, soft cc, yet wearing rather light weight armor (so either in warrior gains a stat boost for using mail or a stat conversion for the more cleric styled stats to more warrior styled stats. Or in leather armor with the rogue if used in that callng.), and such to make up for the loss of the other weapon, yet in the tree/roots there could/would be a talent/ability that buffs the stats (stat points, weapon damage, and speed.) of the weapon you weild so long as you only wield one. An for clerics the issue is getting a new tanking (might be nice to have to make cleric tanking more viable, and distinct), support/dps, or support healing soul is not really aa good idea to me as they miss a pet-based soul. Now like the harbringer giving them a pet-based soul that each pet might allow them to synergize with other souls that they have differently might be interesting. Thigns like getting a avatar of one of the dieties of the guardians to come into being, each diety/avatar could buff or adjust the soul's main abilities to have different effects.

 

Also since so many sem to think when yo say cc that it is going to mean thigns like stuns (i think mainly since it is a rogue class). To me the fencer would use alot of soft cc like disables (maybe stop them able to ativating their abilities for a short while, cripples/snares/slows, and even maybe some stuns yet i would want to see less of them. I would look at the fencer/duelist as more of a control class that controls how or what a player does, but not like a normal lock-out rogue class as in wow where you use stuns to completely lockdown the target.
