Looking for someone who would like to try the game Path of Exile with me.  I played about a year ago but I'm going to restart and would like someone to level and re-learn the game with.  There are plenty of youtube videos if you'd like to see some gameplay (be sure to get a recent one, uploaded in the past 2 months, the game has changed alot), but here are some highlights (both good and bad):

-Action RPG, similar in basic gameplay features to Diablo series

-Currently in closed beta, it will be a free to play game once released, but without the usual pay-2-win shop that all the other f2p (and some of the non-f2p) games have

-A strong PvP focus; while there will be PvE content and bosses, including hardcore single-death PvE mode, the game will focus just as much on PvP including FFA full-loot PvP server options.  There will be server options for your preferences, if you just want full PvE or hardcore PvP.  (note: PvP is only minimally implemented atm, the big "pvp patch" is 2 patches away)

-Extremely complex skill tree and item creation/modification system that allows for more unique characters than you can find in any other game.  You can customize every item in hundreds of ways.

-Good graphics, but dark and gritty fantasy rather than bright and cheerful.  The characters, armor, and world look mostly post-apocalyptic fantasy which is a style not everyone might like

-Fixed viewpoint, like most other ARPG's; this limits camera and zoom options, and also means the game is meant for widescreen atm, 4:3 resolutions are not good here.

-Since the game is closed beta there will be a wipe before open beta, so all "progress" will be lost.  If you play now, its just for fun and to learn the game.

So, if you are still interested in playing after reading all that, and checking out a couple youtube videos, let me know and I have a beta key for you.  Also please have ventrilo/ts/mumble for voice chat and speak/understand fluent english!

I have been supporting and enjoying PoE for a while now. Far better than D3 in almost every regard. 

The nearly endless Active skill gem, and Passive tree combinations, equipment reforging, all lead to truly varied and creative builds. Not the 1 or 2 that D3 allows. Where D3 sees an strong build and strikes out to nerf it, the GGG devs seem to take pride and cry "Look what you can do with what we built" with every 'Build of the week' video.

There are a few minor issues with the isometric view, and obscured views of loot and mobs.

Some of the quest texts could be a little bit clearer as to what they want done.

Over all though an amazingly smooth and clever ARPG.

I participated in the beta for some time, but I was not really "touched" by the game, so I quit and am not planning on playing this game.

I do not claim it is a bad game! I actually think it is pretty good. It just is not for me.

I liked PoE way more than D3.

Only problem was, that it felt like I was walking around the same land scape all the time. There were no difference in the enviroment which made it boring.

Posts like these are actually super encouraging for the fans of the ARPG genre :)  (but I guess most are trying PoE anyway)

I didn't see Torchlight 2 mentioned in the OP, so I assume it was full of typos.

D3 was fun, but I think T2 will be what I've been waiting for.

True, the visuals have no respecs.  However if you meant character respecs, then yes it is possible.  You're welcome.

Are (will be) a lot better LHG's than Diablo 3, because the loot system in D3 is controlled by blizzard's ambitions of the AH/RMAH. Limiting rare drops depending on the supply in AH is like piss in the eye for a LHG.
