Basically to start off I havent got the greatest knowledge of how computers work internally, know the basic's etc.

What im wanting from the computer is to be able to run pretty much any rpg/mmo on a good quality, not expecting ultra.

Basically my budget is around 500-600 pounds, one website a friend told me about is newegg, obviously i'd have to have it shipped over but thats not a problem.

Just wondering if this set-up would work;

Thank's

Hello

Maybe I am missing something but your links indicate that you want to put an AMD FX4100 into an Intel Z77 mobo? See what, you Intel mobo will not gladly accept an AMD guest, anyway youre invited to try. Now being serious, if your budget is somhow constraint you should opt for a more value mobo like MSI GD55 line, or Gigabyte D3 (all with Z77 chipset). If you dont plan overclocking, use an i5 model like 3550 or 3570. Talking about the GPU I would go with a 7870 model, its a better buy right now (or a gtx 570 from  nVidia if you prefer the green team). Don't forget about the case and proper storage.

Enjoy

The fact you are spending pounds i assume you are in the UK?  In that case check out ebuyer, dabs, scan and Overclockers.  In that 600 what do u need?  Everything?  Mouse, monitor keyboard, and o/s?

Thats a Z77 mobo on wich you can put only cpus with a 1155 socket(i3, i5, i7) wich are Intel cpus. For that cpu wich you linked you need an AM3+ motherboard. Anyway I dont see the point why would you get a cpu for 100 buck and a mobo for 240. For that money you ca get a i5 3570K and a nice Z77 motherboard;) or if you want to stick with AMD you can get a am3+ motherboard (990FX) for 130 bucks.

I really am clueless, but tbh im just sick of my 1gb ram, etc. My computer is like 9 year old. Was good back in the old days.

And yeah i'm from the UK, thats why i'm asking here though what would be the best thing to go for lol :)

First of all, if you're in Britain, then you should buy parts in Britain.  New Egg is nice for the US, but they charge quite a bit even to ship parts to Canada.  I don't think they'll ship parts across the Atlantic at all.

Next, exactly what do you need?  Do you just need a new case and everything that goes inside?  Or do you also need new peripherals (monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, surge protector)?  Peripherals are easy to upgrade independent of the rest of the computer, so they're often upgraded separately.  For example, you may buy a new mouse when the old one dies.

Ah okay i'll take that to mind then and basically what i'm wanting is a new computer, case i've got should be fine from what i've been told.

Moniter, mouse etc isn't really my cup of tea. Prefer the basics when it come's to that tbh, but yeah its mainly a new comp i'm needing.

Reason i'm asking here is because i don't trust some stores, i.e ripping me off cause I dont have a clue on what goes with what.

If your current computer is nine years old, then you presumably need a new case, power supply, motherboard, processor, video card, memory, optical drive, hard drive (or SSD), and OS license.  The question is whether you also need a new monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, and/or surge protector.  If you're replacing the old computer, you can probably reuse your old peripherals for the new computer.

If you don't already have a wired laser mouse, you should probably get one.  They're cheap, and a huge upgrade over the old ball mice, or even the earlier optical mice.  You might want an LCD monitor if you don't already have one, though those are rather less cheap.  Surge protectors haven't changed much in a long time.  Neither have keyboards, other than the transition from PS/2 to USB, but you can get a motherboard with a PS/2 port if you need one.
