This game looks like it's made of pure 100% unfiltered epicsauce... And I typically hate scantily clad females in games.

BECAUSE

ITS NOT A MMO

the game is a 3D RTS sort of like LoTRC tried to do, but failed at. Its not a MMO. its 3D like most MMO nowdays, yes.

it has Multiplayer like most MMO do, yes

it has Online gameplay like MMO have, Yes.

but thats where the similarity stops. and those traits can be found in games like MW3, which also isnt a MMO.

"Pull back from everyday battles even further and you enter the MMO realm that draws the world together. Kingdom Under Fire II's world map is a persistent affair, connecting online players and facilitating multiplayer sessions. Sprawling towns and markets offer hubs of activity for purchasing items and recruiting additional troops."

It's as much an MMO as many on or coming to market from the way it sounds, and much more an MMO than say Diablo or Skyrim....

Did you read the article or watch the video? I'm assuming not... Besides MMORPG.com covers more than traditional MMO's, especially when it comes to mmo-like games.

It really wouldn't be the first time though.

I'd rather see a title like that featured than some facebook garbage.

Quote from the article

"Pull back from everyday battles even further and you enter the MMO realm that draws the world together. Sprawling towns and markets offer hubs of activity for purchasing items and recruiting additional troops. "

Seems like its an MMO

Edit: Also it has no single player element any more.  So its as much an mmo as Diablo 3 at the very least

Edit2: Seems like OP beat me to it.

SKYRIM AND DIABLO

ARE NOT MMO

the writer of the article called it a MMO. he is still misleading. Just like in the articles on this site call Crytic's NWN a MMO, which they also said time and time again it wasnt.

they use Hub system like GW1, DDO, and Dynasty Warriors online does,,, where you can see and interact with other players. the rest of the world is,,,,," can you guess"?

Are the caps and red necessary? Again this site covers both of those games, your point is moot.... You also obviously didn't watch the trailer, players were running by each other in the "persistent" world.... That's more than you can say for GW1...

Definitions evolve over time, Persistant worlds seem to no longer be a requirement to be an MMO.

For not being a mmo in some peoples eyes, it seems like it does a better job than some games that claim to be mmo's

The site here is mmorpg.com they have a sister site for rts games. and fps. From what ign was saying this game would either be a mmorts or mmofps or hybrid of the two so i dont thinjk it has anything to do with budget. i think its about that fact its not an mmorpg but a diffrent type.
