Minecraft is a MMO and it is as popular as WoW so Why don't we have a forum? "So far 11,417,141 (WoW kind of Numbers.) people have registered and 2,997,116 people bought the game." On top of that the game is "passing THREE MILLION COPIES SOLD." So again why no official forum here?
I too would appreciate a Minecraft section; it has several MMO elements and quite a large community. I don't see how adding a sub-forum would bring any harm to this website.
Not every online game is an MMO. If you've got a really powerful server 256 players can be on at the same time - I'd hardly call that massive.

And minecraft is just as multiplayer as LoL imo, LoL games can have what, between 2 and 10 players? Minecraft servers between 1 and 20+ ?
I think there's rich vein of discussion ; ) to be had with Minecraft because:
1) sandbox gameplay
2) Gameplay > Graphics
3) Indie with a hand in some other interesting titles
4) Potential development towards more mmo?

Minecraft is not an MMO. Calling it one doesn't make it one. It doesn't fit the criteria to qualify as an MMO. It's a game. Simple as that.
That game doesnt deserve a Forum here. You call that pixeltrash a mmorpg? Should now every 16 Colour game have a forum? Thats not a quality game. Gameplay>graphics may be true, but that game bring arcade style elements no MMORPG-elements.
Try make a MMO out of that SOURCE Engine, then we may talk about a forum agan.

So if MC was built off the Source engine, it would be a MMO? I don't understand your logic. MC offers social interaction in a persistent online environment; that is more than I can say for games like LoL.
I should also point out that I have seen more activity on my Minecraft server than that in my recent visit of G&H.
Would I call it a MMORPG, yup. I think the term is quite undefined and open to interpretation. Furthermore, I believe the MC community has a more mature player base; which may do some real good here (see quoted post for example).
I'm Hoping that this community dose expand its forums to include game like MC we need to think out side the MMO box from time to time and still be a MMO purest.
If Diablo 3 gets it's own forum here, then Minecraft should as well.

Also, to the guy up a few posts who refers to it as pixel trash. Have you played the game for any duration of time? Many people who have bought the game have likely put in more hours than they have to other more visually appealing titles. If games like LoL and D3 are on here then why shouldnt MC be? Also, the game can look pretty amazing. Only the BASE texture pack is 16x16. The game supports an easy way to swap texture packs, and I've seen packs that use 256x256. On top of that, this game isnt just a simple money grab thats done being developed. It has a set release date and a full team working on it. Patch 1.8 is supposed to beef it up tremendously.
Please educate yourself before you go off and spout about how terrible something is without knowing that much about the game.
There needs to be an enema already. Adding more stuff will not help.
I wish there were a way to move all of the games I don't want to see or hear anything about to a little section and hide it all. This place gets more cluttered by the day.
Yes please to a Minecraft forum. I see no harm in it at all, and I'd love to see what others are up to in the game.

i play minecraft.. and i like minecraft.. but what minecraft is not. is an MMO. so it can not be on mmorpg. this site deals 90% of the time with pure MMOs. not multiplayer games.
while SMP on minecraft is online and persistant, its not the same as WoW or other MMO's for multiplayer or persistance.
its a single player/multiplayer game nothing more. if minecraft is put on here you may as well say starcrap is an mmo or warcrack is an mmo (not WoW but actual warcrack...)
or age of empires is an mmo ect...
just because its hugely popular and has online multiplayer, doesnt mean its an mmo. sorry. just how it is :/
personally though i like my 128 textures over my HD 256 :/ 1.7 seems to have bugged mine up that it lags me horribly with my old textures i used in 1.5-1.6 :/

By your definition, then many of the games on the list can't be on this site. MMORPG.com has seemingly evolved from just mmos, to many online multiplayer games. LoL has forums here, D3 most likely will, heck, even Torchlight has a forum here and it doesn't even have a multiplayer version released yet.
Minecraft could have a forum here, just the same as many other games. Considering the sandbox nature of the game, I'm sure there would be many who would like to have discussions here. Yes, MC has official forums, but so do many other games that have forums here.
I would not be opposed to a MC forum here, but at the same time, I don't really care if there isn't one either.
