Hi i have a question on item malls as im planning on having one.

The question is how do i go about setting one up and linking it to players accounts (keeping track point/currency for store items ect).

The sort of item mall i plan on having is the sort that dont give major advantages eg you can buy a pack of 10 healing potions (that heal - instead -) or a resorce crate containing tools or items need for crafting or cloths,wepons,armour or items that have no major impact in the game other then they look good or are limited edition/holiday items.

Hi,

 

I use a shoping mall in my MMORPG,  I didn't want people who used the mall to have an unfair advantage over others, so all the mall items are designed around saving time ie.

Automatic Leveller - this allows you to upgrade your ship and all its attached equipment to your characters current level, this saves you having to move from planet to planet finding where to buy the next level up equipment.

10 New Stellar Objects -  The closest 10 planets that you haven't already seen will become visible on your map, You will still have to visit them to learn what they are and what they sell.

Extra Credits - convert really money into game credits.  Save time on mining or looting,

Etc.Etc.

I integrate the mall though paypals interface and it was pretty straight forward to embed the processor directly into my engine, You do however need to make sure than all mall and character processing is done server side ( for security ).
