Hey guys, miss those oldschool type games? Well i'm here now to give you a list of those Genre of games or similar. Maybe the MMORPG Gamelist search takes abit long for you to search what you crave for in a game.

So i've taken the trouble of doing it for you! I've taken the liberty of researching all the games matching the description above and listed there Name, Hype level, wether they are Free to play or Pay to play and their Main site for Sign up. All i am here to do is give you a quick list of those games from the Gamelist Source option (Top right courner of site). All i am doing is taking the long search for the game you desire and placing them in a Small, More filtered list below.

I know i've maybe missed a couple out of the list. But i'm only human! The vast majority are F2P.

Thats a shame, the old school games are often the best.

i think ashen empires just converted from P2P to F2P unless im wrong, but their site said so.

I have been looking for this type of filtering. Can anyone take it a step farther and tell me how many of these games also offer live events and raid encounters(18+ people)? How about more than 6 generic classes and no multi-classing(limited development points)? Anyone know the average player base magnitude of these games?

Unfortunately, I don't see many turn-based tactical mmorpgs out there. The style of game I am looking for has time intervals followed by synchronized real-time moves(all participants in the combat range have an opportunity to plan their move over 10-20 seconds, or what not, and after the 10-20 seconds has elapsed all of the combat actions are executed synchronized). I am willing to settle for real-time gaming if the end-game experience contains sufficient live events and raid content.

One last criteria, the game should be easy to grind solo for skill/level progression, but REQUIRE raiding for obtaining high end gear.

I am downloading AshenEmpires as I am typing this, but I think that the spell list is maybe too small for my liking. I have already considered Corum, Dofus, MapleStory, Myth War, Ultima(too many spell components to keep track of).

Did i miss Ragnarok Online when i read that. <<< Def one of the best 2D MMORPGs ever made.

I checked it out, checked the requirements, clicked on the download button, started making an account, got to 98% before i realised that to make an account you have to pay to play.............

Do any of these games support widescreen? (i.e. 1920x1200)
