Last week, The Lord of the Rings Online showcased its upcoming Mariner class, coming with the Umbar expansion later this year. The new class is all about balance, going with the ebb and flow of combat to maximize its potential.
One of The Lord of the Rings Online's greatest strengths is the ability to flesh out Middle-earth in more ways than just the main quest for Mount Doom. This is something that the team over at Standing Stone Games has done for ages now since launching the MMO back in 2007, and today's mini-expansion continues that legacy with Before the Shadow.
Everyone has her/his own favorite book or film in a series. For the two big ones, Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings, it’s become fashionable to like The Empire Strikes Back and The Two Towers, respectively, and pooh-pooh the others. Recently, we were invited by Turbine to check out Lord of the Rings Online's Update 15. In it, we were presented with a first look at the Beorning class and also the new big battle that centered around the off-camera lore story of the retaking of Pelargir, an important Gondorian port that Aragorn and the Grey Company needed to liberate in order to prevent a devastating attack upon Minas Tirith.
The 7th anniversary of Lord of the Rings Online is right around the corner and so is the release of Lord of the Rings Online’s 13th Update: The Breaking of Isengard. Previously, players had taken part in Isengard content by being held captive by Saruman and the orcs within. Now? The story has progressed with the books and players will get to explore what happened and how Saruman came to lose power. Yes folks, that means lots and lots of Ents and the Entmoot.
Turbine has been proudly showing off the locations and environments coming in the next Lord of the Rings Online expansion, Helm's Deep, that is slated to go live in November.
