I bought the game and not playing, waiting for release.

ill rather play a good interesting real mmo with average graffix than AAA pretty graffix mmos that's crap.

its still pre-alpha so I think finished it will look good they have raised mush more than they thought and are spending where the players ask.

Uninstalled the game since developers decided to continue with their random card combat system.

Lahuzer writes: What makes me pumped up for the game even more is the random card combat system. Finally a system where you won't be able to macro yourself to victory. You will have to be on your toes and use skills as they get drawn. I think it's a groundbreaking new system. Way to go!!! Sat Jul 26 2014 11:00AM Report

Lahuzer -  Its the worse combat system i've ever tested.  You just stare at the hotbar waiting for random skills to pop up , meanwhile you miss all the action .

Groundbreaking?  They just broke their own game...

All games are abstractions.  It's not like hammering the number or  function keys have any real relationship to combat, fantasy or real.   Setting up a macro is certainly not action combat.

You don't have to like this iteration, but pretending that your finger dexterity in hitting the keyboard is absolutely superior to all other forms of fighting abstraction is sorta missing the bullseye, you know?

Arglebargle - Being forced to look at a hot bar that randomly present your skills and spells for you is not moving MMO combat forward in any way. When that combat system same time make you miss what your enemies are doing then i believe Gunga Din got his bullseye.

Only ones that like this system is the casual PvP players that can't compete in a game that take real player skills. They like it casual and they got it.

Lahuzer writes: GungaDin - But it's not random. You pick the skills/deck you want. There is alot of tactics behind that as well. You can speed up the time cards get drawn as well etc. I think it has a enormous depth. And I've tested it as well, and so far I rly like. Can't wait for more skills to get in though. Lahuzer - skills/spells that randomly show up from a deck of cards on a hot bar is random. Locking skills will give you a disadvantage so to be able to compete well you need the random spells and skills.

You forgot to explain why staring at a hot bar and missing the action going on is something good and in what way that bring more depth to a PvP game?

Isn't acting with skills or spells depending on what you saw your opponent do something good?

Having to focus on a hot bar isn't gonna bring any depth to any PvP game.

It's exactly like Gunga says, the game tell me what to do next and there is just about no player control whatsoever.

When combos arrives it will be a never ending stare at the hot bar and no focus on the combat going on, how fun is that?

Lahuzer writes: Like with every other game, it will all come natural after a while. You'll know what all skills do etc, and when they pop up, you will be able to choose them depending on how the fight has developed. It will take some time getting used to, but once your "in it" it's gonna be very tactical. And choosing what cards going to be in your deck isn't random. You will build your deck. Then the cards that will be drawn is random. Sure. But then you'll have to build decks to suit your playstyle. I still see it as something fresh and exciting. Sry you seem to doom it even before they even gotten all skills in etc. Sun Jul 27 2014 2:34AM Report

OK so they start talking about building a DECK....they are STANDING on a deck. I thought Strange!  Then they move to yet another DECK.  HUH? I was confused until they said CARDs.  DuH!

I have always loved the old Ultima's (i.e. Underworld) then I loaded them with dos box.  NOT like I remembered (graphics), however I really LOVED the music, Spell system & background sounds.  Hope they can use some of them in this game.

I would like to thank Richard Garriott, Starr Long & the DEVs for all their hard work to bring back the Avatar.  It seems they do enjoy their work. =) and I cannot wait for the finished product!

I am not a fan of PVP (I would rather kill monsters) but I enjoyed the Video  ~  Merozz
